Google classroom

Despite IT’s best efforts it looks unlikely that we will be up and running for Google classroom today, unfortunately it’s an issue that’s beyond our control.  Please keep your child’s login and email address safe as we will try again as soon as the issue is resolved.

Home learning

Good morning all

Today Nursery is going ahead with a reading of Rosie’s walk at 2:30 on google classrooms,( fingers crossed 🤞🏻) please see your child’s evidence me parent share or an email from your child’s key worker for information about how to log on.

Today’s next steps challenge will be to see if your child can recall the story back to you.

For example;

Can they tell you about the characters or what happened to them?

Can they suggest a different ending perhaps ?

Also please see your child’s individual next steps set on the evidence me app for ideas. But remember there’s no pressure to do so. We know how hard it is for you especially parents working from home themselves. So have a cheeky dvd/ film night and snuggle up to your little ones and relax. ❤️

Wow children you stepped up to the challenges set to you yesterday,Amazing responses! from both our Lady Bugs room and Mighty Oaks. You’ve been working hard it’s clear to see.

So again let’s smile at these photos because not only do you look like your enjoying it, I see we’ve had a few celebrations 🎉 like birthdays and a newborn 👶 congratulations to Joshua and family your little brother Brody looks very happy having a cuddle.

Learning at home

We are hoping to offer some learning via google classrooms and you should receive an email and a login for your child from your keyworker.  Please check evidence me for this information.  At the moment we are still waiting for ladybug logins, so please bear with us.  For today, if you are unable to log in later on, please just use the link below in order to access the afternoon story.

I will be sending further information if we are able to go ahead with google classroom today on the website, if not please just use the link above.  Please be patient with us as there is lots going on behind the scenes to enable this to happen.

Hope to see you all again soon

Fantastic home learning

We’re very happy to be receiving your lovely photos taken at home for home learning observations. These times are tricky and difficult to understand for most adults, but seeing how well your children are adapting to home learning is a pleasure and that’s down to you the parents and careers, so well done everyone.

Here are just a few more to make you smile today, how could you not? We have some very talented children. I see the future is bright with these little ones developing life skills and showing off some hidden talents. Star bakers and chefs, artists, and even mathematicians.

Home learning for nursery children

I’m really sorry that I can’t see you all in person today at nursery.  Please can you support your child at home over the next few days and beyond by going onto your evidence me app.  As usual, we would love to see observations of your child at home, particularly if they meet their next steps.  Your child’s next steps are listed at the end of every observation that you can see on the app.  These are individual to your child alone and would help them to make progress.  All of the keyworkers are available via evidence me and would love to see photographs or videos of your child.  Equally, you can use this app to ask questions or seek support.  We’d love to hear from you soon.

Update 18.1.21

Dear Parent/Carer,

Like everyone, we are hopeful that the end is now in sight with the rapid roll out of the Coronavirus vaccine.

Over the weekend we were however informed of two positive cases of children, one in Year 6 and one in our Nursery provision.

Unfortunately, we have had to put a number of children and adults into isolation in Year 6 and the same for Nursery. Clearly the ‘track and trace’ method of detection is so difficult when the children are so young in Nursery and hence the impact of this has been much wider.

We want to reassure you that we continue to strictly follow all guidance as far as prevention of spread of the virus is concerned in school and nursery. It is so important that you also follow the national guidance at home. Please keep a very careful eye on your children and do not send them to school if they are unwell. Unfortunately Coronavirus in children can very often result in there being zero symptoms, which of course makes it very difficult to detect.

As a resident of Telford and Wrekin, you are allowed to access regular testing. We know that lots of families are doing this, which really does help us keep a grip on the virus transmission. If you can please follow this link and look to book tests as regular as you can –

https://rapidtest.telford.gov.uk

We are delighted with our online learning offer and hope you can spare a few minutes later today filling in the parent survey so that we can see clearly see what is working well and areas that we need to tweak.

Paper packs of work are an absolute last resort and no where near as beneficial to your children as the online lessons. We have been trying so hard to support all families in gaining online access. If you still are struggling please do ring the office and we will do all we can to get you up and running.

Thank you for your continued support.

Home learning

I’m so pleased to see your home learning photos coming through to evidence me. It’s clear to us all here that you’re all safe, well and happy at home doing all sorts of celebrations and learning activities.

Here’s some I would like to share with you. We have had some technical issues reported I’m sorry to hear this but hopefully we will get this sorted soon.

Next Wednesday the 20th ( morning only ) for Mighty oaks, we are going ahead with forest school and cooking sessions. For this all your child will need to bring in with them is their wellies, gloves and a hat.

Overviews of Maths content

Dear parents and carers,

Over the next few days, you will see your class teachers sharing overviews of maths content with you on a single sheet of paper.

These are called knowledge organisers and contain the essential parts of learning that your child will be covering in that unit of work. We need our children to know more by remembering more and these will help them to understand what are the essential parts that they need to know at the end of that unit of work.

The work that is set for your children will relate directly to the content on these. You can support your child by going through these with them and identifying if there are any aspects on there which your child needs extra work on. Your child’s teacher will be able to help you with this.

As always, if any help or support is needed, please get in touch.

Kind regards
Mrs Bishton

Lady bugs home learning

Lady bugs are really concentrating on independent learning.

Their doing this by promoting the children to try things on their own first, with lots of praise and encouraging them as they do. The little things like trying to put their coat on and off, using cutlery to feed themselves and putting on and off their own shoes. Going to the toilet and washing their hands and getting their own things ready at home time.

Please share your photos through the evidence me app and your child’s key worker will place them into the correct area of objective to support their tracking.
