Dear Parents/Carers of children in Mr Jackson’s class,
Mr Jackson has given me permission to share more details with you so that you can better understand the situation with this class.
Mr Jackson had to undergo a very long and complex operation last half term in order to remove cancer cells. The surgeons are confident that they have removed all visible cancerous cells, but as we all know, it is not wise to gamble with cancer and therefore he will also be undergoing specialist radioactive therapy as soon as he is well enough.
He is feeling positive and looks forward to returning to his teaching position just as soon as he is able. We do not yet have a time frame for this as no one is sure as to how quickly he will recover from the next stage of his treatment.
I want to reassure you that we are doing all we can to ensure that the quality of education for your children remains high. The Newdale teams are working so hard to ensure this happens. Mr McFarland is doing a tremendous job leading on all of the planning and it makes me so proud to see how the teams rally around whenever we have challenging situations like this to deal with.
I know you will all join me in wishing Mr Jackson the best of luck as he continues his treatment and recovery.
We will of course update you of any changes as they arise.
Thank you for your understanding and patience at this difficult time.
Miss Cook
