Swimming reminder – Mrs Stack’s class

Hi everyone,

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas break and have been enjoying the snow today! This is just a reminder that my class has swimming on the first day back (Tuesday 7th January 2024) so please remember to bring swimming kits. Children are welcome to come to school in PE kit on swimming days for ease of changing. Please ensure that parental consent to attend swimming has been given on Parentpay as without this children are unable to participate.

Our second weekly PE session will be on a Friday of each week.

Many thanks,

Mrs Stack

Quizmas winner – Mrs Stack’s class

Thank you to all of you who attended our Quizmas celebration on Wednesday. It was so lovely to see all of the children having so much fun. It was extremely close but Miss B and I can reveal that the winner was ……….Maddie! Well done and enjoy your chocolates!

PE Days Spring 1

Hi all,

Just to let you know that PE days after Christmas will be on a Tuesday and Friday.

Mrs Stack’s class will start their 5 week block of swimming on the first day back (Tuesday 7th January 2025) and so will need to bring in their swimming costume each Tuesday during this time. Mr  McFarland’s class will just require PE kit as normal.

Many thanks

Mrs Stack

Last Week

Hi all,

Not many sleeps to go now!

Just a few reminders for this week:

Wednesday’s Christmas Event

The children can wear their Christmas jumpers all day on Wednesday, along with their PE kit please. Also, please remember to bring your mugs if you would like hot chocolate!

Friday – Last Day

It is a dress down day on Friday and so the children are not required to come in uniform. We have lots of fun things planned during the day! For their party in the afternoon, the children are allowed to bring in a board game from home. However, please ensure that they do not bring any expensive or electrical items.

Thank you for all of your support at home. The children have worked so hard this term and we are extremely proud of them.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas break and a Happy new Year.

Mrs Stack and Mr McFarland

Free School Meals

Dear Parents/Carers,

We already have many families who enjoy the benefits after applying for Free School Meals and we urge you to reconsider if you meet the criteria listed below.

By applying for Free School Meals, very often parents think it is all directly linked to school dinners- it isn’t! If you qualify for Free School Meals, it also means that you are entitled to significantly reduced prices for school trips, breakfast clubs and after school clubs. There are many other benefits that your child could directly receive to potentially support them at home and if needed, with their learning at school.

Families with children in years Reception up to Year 6 can apply for Free School Meals if they are entitled to certain benefits and have an annual income of £16,190 or below.

Please follow the below link as this will take you to the Telford & Wrekin website where you are able to access more information and download an application form which will be sent directly to the team. Or alternatively, speak to a member of staff in the school office for support in applying.

Movie Night Fundraiser

A big thank you to everyone that supported the film nights.

School parliament treasurers have been busy calculating the profit and the money raised in total was £634.97.

This will go towards funding the Healthy Lifestyle week.

Thank you, on behalf of School Parliament.

Behaviour

At Newdale, we pride ourselves on our calm and orderly environment which enables our pupils to learn effectively. Our ‘BeSMART code’ is the backbone to our behaviour system and we believe that a positive approach is the key to good behaviour. We want to support our pupils in developing a sense of pride in their efforts; both with their learning and with their behaviour.  We reward positive behaviour, for example with stickers, house points and gold cards. Please ask your children about this at home so that you can further celebrate this together. Please see the attached document for more information about Newdale’s behaviour system and how you can use our systems to support behaviour at home too!
