Grandparents tea party

What a lovely turn out it was for our grandparents tea party!
The children were delighted to see you and get creative with you by making some autumn leaves and decorating biscuits. We thank you for your time and joining us, we hope to do more things like this in the future so don’t worry if you couldn’t make it this time.

Grandparents Tea party

It was wonderful to welcome just over 300 Grandparents into our school this afternoon. It is always so lovely to give the children the opportunity to celebrate their learning and show off their work with their loved ones. Here are a few photographs of some of the activities going on across the school.

Many thanks,

Miss Cook

Safeguarding Reminder

Dear Parents/Carers,

In October, we have organised a free workshop to update and inform parents/carers on safeguarding issues within our local and wider community. These sessions are informative and will provide parents and carers with information and an awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) and County Lines. The sessions will be led by Vicki Ridgewell, who is the Exploitation and Vulnerability Trainer for West Mercia Police. There will be two, identical workshops: one face-to-face and the other online.

Child Sexual Exploitation – A Guide for parents and carers – 2022 leaflet

Wednesday 11th October 2023

Time: 9-10am                  Location: School hall

Wednesday 18th October 2023

Time: 4-5pm                    Location: Teams (please see link below)

We have robust safeguarding systems in place at Newdale and do our upmost to prevent our children coming into harm. All members of staff receive regular training on this particular aspect as well as other safeguarding issues. Our Curriculum, especially our Life Learning curriculum, addresses these areas in an age-appropriate way to support children in making good choices when in their community.

If you are unable to attend but would like to find out more information on this topic. Please read the parents’ guide attached which has been produced by the Telford and Wrekin Safeguarding Partnership.

Yours sincerely,

Miss R Cook

The scarecrows wedding

Mighty oaks this week have celebrated Harry and Betty’s Wedding by reading the book and role playing the story. They’ve enjoyed lots of different activities from making their very own scarecrows and exploring the farmyard tuff tray.

On our Autumn walk 🍁🍂 the children explored and talked about the changes in colour to what had grown and fell on the ground, learning all about growth and decay they enjoy throwing and crunching the leaves.

In cooking we made homemade vegetable soup and bread. They were watched while they safety used the knives and vegetable peelers when preparing the vegetables for the soup. Our mini bakers got to work as they learned how to knead and roll the bread dough ready for baking the baps. 🥗

Indoor PE was about learning how to move our bodies on and across different surfaces, from rolling, crawling, jumping, balancing and target practice.

Next weeks book will be ‘ Supertato ‘
please see your child’s Autumn walk video on your evidence me app. More photos will following of other children role playing the wedding, so watch out !
