ART DAY 2021

Art Day 2021

Next Thursday 1st July 2021, we will be holding our annual Art Day in school!

This is a fun day, where we all get creative, learn new techniques, learn about different artists, and create our own wonderful masterpieces.

Our theme for this year’s art day is ‘Maths in Art’. We will be getting arty, using shapes, angles, illusion, perspective, symmetry to name but a few.

For this day, your child is allowed to come to school in clothing that you don’t mind getting messy! Old clothing or providing an old shirt to protect clothing is recommended.

We will be sure to share photos from the day along with the children’s creations afterwards on the website.

Thank you for your support.

A special visitor…

This morning we had a surprise visitor come and see us in class.

Wolfie, the team mascot for Wolverhampton Wanderers, popped in to give us all a high five!

Vision Statement Review

Dear Parents/carers

The school reviews it’s vision statement annually and in doing so takes into consideration the views of parents, children, staff and our governors. Our vision statement can be found here https://www.newdaleschool.org.uk/home/about/aims/ if you have any comments regarding it then please email the office before the end of term.

Inflatable football – Miss Newport’s class

We had a great time this afternoon playing football matches in the inflatable football pitch and penalty shoot-out with the inflatable goal.

Additional copies of reports

End of year reports will be sent home with your child on 9th July.   If an additional copy is required by a parent who does not live at the child’s home address, you must contact the school office on 387720 to make a request by no later than Monday 5th July.

Please ensure that you keep your copy of the report safe, especially if your child is in Year 5.  Some secondary schools (such as Thomas Telford) require a copy to be sent with the application for Year 7 places and we will be unable to make further copies for you once they have been archived.

Headlice in school

Dear Parents/Carers,

We need to inform you that we have reported cases of Headlice in school, particularly in Year 3. If members of the team spot either live lice or eggs they will inform you so that treatment can begin immediately to avoid them spreading across to other children.

It is really important that you treat your children and continue to check for re-infestations. We know that it is only special treatment, tying hair back and time spent combing that will help.  For more information, please see the following guideline from the NHS website.

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits/ There are pictures to help you to identify what nits look like and great advice to help you to treat your child.

We do have a small collection of nit combs that we are happy to let parents have free of charge and we are happy to supply you with the number for the school nursing team should you wish to talk to them directly. Please ask Mrs Powell or Mrs Huda about either of these offers.
