Baker & sons- School uniform shop

From the 1st June our plan is to re open our retail outlet in Wellington, Telford. To ensure that we are able to operate in a safe and controlled environment we will be implementing the following changes this summer.

The main entrance to the store will be now through our rear entrance located off the parade (next to Midnights nightclub) This will allow us to operate a one way system exiting the shop from the front door onto the high street.

The store will be operating an appointment only system from the 1st June. These slots are available to book online through our website, facebook page, bakerandsonschoolwear.booksy.com or the Booksy app can be downloaded onto your smart phone and search for Baker and Son Schoolwear. No entry will be allowed without a prior booking This system will go live on Friday 29th May once we have confirmation, we can re-open.

Our opening hours during June and July will be Monday- Saturday 9am – 4.30pm. During August will be operating extended opening hours. 8am – 7.30pm.

Only two customers will be allowed instore per booking with a total of 10 customers allowed in store at any one time. If you need to shop for more than one child a separate booking will need to be made.

There is plenty of capacity of appointments for everyone to have throughout June, July and August to purchase your childs uniform. We hope everyone will be sensible and respectful when making a appointment and not to make unnecessary appointments. Bookings will be cancelled from the system if we believe that appointment slots are being misused.

Masks, gloves and hand sanitizer will be at the entrance of the shop, The hand sanitizer must be used before entering the store.

Following government advice, clothing will not be allowed to be tried on in store and changing rooms will be closed. Tape measures will be available instore to use, which will be cleaned and sanitized after every use.

If clothing needs to be exchanged once they’ve been tried on at home, there will be an exchange station at the new entrance using a separate queue. A member of staff will assist you, no appointment is required to exchange items.

If you require a refund, we would ask where possible to return these once schools have started back in September.

For anyone who is confident with sizing and only requires a bigger size we would request if possible to purchase these items using our website www.bakerandsonschoolwear.co.uk

We anticipate we may encounter stock issues from manufactures this summer due to the pandemic. We will work tirelessly to ensure minimum impact to our customers. If there is an item out of stock, we will take your order instore and post to you when it comes back in stock.

Finally we’d like to thank you for your continued support and understanding during this extremely difficult period for everyone.

From myself and all the staff , we look forward to welcoming you back into our shop.

Science Week

Well done to those children who completed work/activities linked to our ‘Citizenship Week’ last week.

This week’s theme is Science.

Have fun!

Well Done Ella & Ethan

We are all very proud of Ella and Ethan for completing a ‘trampoline-athon’ last Saturday.  In total, they raised £170 for the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust.

Ella, who is in Year 4, said that, “We did this to help everyone at the hospital. Not just for the doctors and nurses it’s for everyone the NHS including my daddy. They are all working really hard as always but they need this so much at this time.”❤️

Y4 Home Learning W.B 18.05.20

Hi Everyone,

The focus for this week’s Literacy is apostrophes.

Please find attached a booklet full of activities linked to using apostrophes for possession. At the start of the booklet, you will find a parent/carers guide, which explains the different rules, when using apostrophes for possession.

  • Fronted adverbials
  • Inverted commas
  • Apostrophes for possession
  • Expanded noun phrases

Reading: Reading Comprehension Skills Challenge Cards

Complete a reading challenge card each day this week. Once you have read the short text, have a go at answering the questions either verbally or by writing them down. You or an adult can then use the answer sheet to mark your answers.

Y4 Celebrations – Miss Macfarlane’s Class

Another fantastic week of home learning from Miss Macfarlane’s class.

Mrs H and I are so proud of every single one of you for your attitudes towards your home learning.

Our special shout out this week goes to all the Y4 parents for supporting their child with home learning and posting/emailing their work and photographs.

Enjoy your weekend.

Parent Communication – Miss Macfarlane’s Class

Hi Everyone,

At the start of May, I sent all parents in my class an email to their personal email accounts from the Y4 email address (newdale.year4team@taw.org.uk). If you did not receive one, that would have been due to me not having your email address (as it wasn’t on record in the school office); however, I did send those parents a message on Purple Mash to get back to me (thank you to those who did).

If you haven’t replied via email, it would be great to hear from you all and have an update on how your Y4 child is getting on. Mrs H and I are really missing not being in school and with our Y4 class!

Thank you to the parents who have already been in contact.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Miss Macfarlane and Mrs H

School update

Dear Parents/Carers,

I understand that you must have so many questions and indeed worries about the news that the Prime Minister announced this week concerning schools. This is a very useful document to read and I hope you find it informative.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/closure-of-educational-settings-information-for-parents-and-carers/reopening-schools-and-other-educational-settings-from-1-june

We are currently working very hard on our plan around re opening and hope to share that with you very shortly. If you have children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or Year 6 then please do fill in the form that was sent out this morning to give us an indication as to whether you plan to send your child/children into school or not following half term.

Kind regards

Miss Cook

Reading at home

Just a quick reminder to parents about Oxford Owl’s FREE online reading service.

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page

This service is amazing as it contains a variety of books aimed at your child’s reading level.

As part of your child’s home learning, please encourage them to read as regularly as they can.

Many thanks

The Y4 Team
