Remembrance Assault Course

Dear Parents/Carers,

In order to remember the hardship faced by the troops during the World Wars, Year 5 will be completing an assault course on Wednesday 11th November. On this day, your child will need to come into school wearing old clothes and footwear which may get muddy depending on the weather. We will be doing the assault course at the end of the school day.

If your child is staying for an after-school club, please could they bring in a change of clothes.

Thanks in advance,

Remembrance celebrations in school

Dear parents and carers,

Even though we are all having to adjust to a newer way of doing things, here at Newdale we want to continue to take part in events to help our children recognise significant occasions.

As part of Remembrance this year, each year group is going to take part in an 11/11 challenge on Wednesday 11th November 2020. The activities that each year group are planning on doing are –

Nursery Sing 11 Nursery Rhymes / Songs

Reception Take part in 11 Remembrance Activities

Year 1 Complete 11 laps of the bike road on trikes

Year 2 Run / Walk 11 laps of the bottom playground

Year 3 Dance 11 styles of dance

Year 4 Run / Walk 11 laps of the cage or field.

Year 5 Complete 11 obstacles

Year 6 Listen to 11 days of war songs

The Den Run / Walk 11 laps of the bottom playground

To help raise money to be donated to the British legion charity, we are asking that the children are sponsored £1 for their challenge. The children can drop it in the collection pot as they walk into class.

Not only will the children be taking part in the challenge, but they will also be learning more about the significance of remembrance day through lessons in their classes.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Miss Cook
