Update 11.11.20

Dear Parents/Carers,

Just a quick note to say ‘thank you’ for the efforts everyone is making to keep our site Covid free. We are delighted in the response we have had to the request for all parents to wear face coverings on our site.

As you will undoubtedly of heard, there are relatively high numbers of Covid in Telford and therefore we continue to operate strict hygiene and ‘bubble’ systems in school. Adult to adult transition holds the highest risk and with your help we are managing to keep everyone safe.

I continue to carefully analyse the advice we are given as schools and update our risk assessment accordingly.

Kind regards,

Miss Cook

Lost Property

We have a large number of coats without children’s names in our lost property.  On Tuesday morning (10th November) we will place the coats on the picket fence on the playground for parents to check through.  We will space them out to adhere to social distancing but ask that parents also try to maintain a safe distance.

Please note only coats will be taken out tomorrow, however we will look at introducing other items in the future.

If it is wet outside please note that we will not be taking the coats out.

Thank you

After School Clubs – Years 1 & 2

Apologies for any confusion.  If your child attends an after school sport club, they are to attend school in their school uniform and can bring their kit to get changed into at the end of the day.

Only those children in Years 3 – 6 will wear their kit to school all day.  This is due to needing separate changing rooms for the girls and boys.

Year 5&6 Star of the Week

Harvey – for having a great independent work ethic, polite attitude and always trying his best. (Mrs Thomas)
Charna-Mai – for showing an incredible enthusiasm towards both quantity and quality of work! (Mr Banfield)
Amy – for showing amazing improvement of her handwriting and a mature attitude (Mrs Arthurs)
Gabriel – for producing a brilliant piece of writing describing a bomb attack during World War 2 (Miss Clay)

Secondary School Applications

Year 6 parents – the deadline for secondary school applications is October 31st 2020.  All applications have to be completed on line, if you would like support with this process please do not hesitate to contact the office or the pastoral team.

Safety on our site

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are continually trying to ensure we have a safe site for everyone.

We rely on parents to socially distance themselves and need you to ensure this happens please. We also ask that parents limit the number of people coming onto site. We have noticed that more than one adult is often coming to drop off or collect and also that secondary pupils are joining parents in this task. Please limit the number to one person unless absolutely necessary.

Recently we have had to put a yellow box outside of the back classroom doors. This box must not be entered by any parents please.

Staff will ask you to step back if this is the case.

We also ask that parents continue to use the home school communication books, call the office or leave messages with Mrs Powell and Mrs Huda if necessary.

Parents are not allowed into classrooms or into the main school via the main office.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding at this time.

Year 6 Self Isolation Learning

If your child is self-isolating due to a family member displaying symptoms, please visit your child’s class page for ideas to support your child at home with their learning. The document will be located in the resources section on each year groups’ page of the website.

Year 6 self isolation learning

Please note that if your child is self-isolating because they are displaying symptoms, we wouldn’t expect them to complete the tasks if they are feeling unwell.

Many thanks
