Year 6 Halloween Event

Due to having PE on Friday afternoon, year 6 will be doing Halloween crafts/ activities on the afternoon of Thursday 21st September. Your child is welcome to bring a Halloween outfit with them which they will be allowed to change into for the afternoon. We will also be watching Wonder (linked to our class book) on Friday afternoon.

Any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher via their home school book.

Friday 22nd October

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Friday, Year 5 will be completing Halloween-themed activities all day. If you would like to, you may send your child into school in their Halloween costume. As with the previous letter, please ensure that accessories are not sent in with your child, such as novelty weapons etc which are prone to break or cause issues. Please ensure that your child has suitable footwear and coats to suit the weather conditions.

Kind Regards,

The Year 5 Team

Online Safety Warning – Squid Game advice for parents

It has been brought to our attention that some children have been watching a new Netflix series called Squid Game.  May we remind parents that this series is rated as a 15 due to its adult content.

It is vital that you monitor what your child is watching online and we recommend that they watch TVs and devices in a communal room at home rather than in their bedrooms.

It is a good idea to set up a Netflix Kids experience profile so you can be sure that they are watching only child-friendly programmes.  There are many other ways to keep your child safe when using Netflix.  Please read the safety tips below:

If you have any concerns or need further advice, please contact a member of the Newdale team.

Y4 Reminder

Y4 have their nature walk on Friday (22nd). Please ensure they come into school wearing their forest school clothes. We will also be carrying out Halloween activities in the afternoon. Children will need to bring their costumes/dress down clothes in a bag.

Thanks

Y4

RE Survey reminder

Just a quick reminder about completing our RE Census. We are hoping to hear from as many of our Newdale families as possible, by Friday 22nd October.

This survey will help us to understand more about our families; we would really like an updated picture of the different religions, beliefs and values held by the children, and families, within our Newdale community. This will support us in ensuring that our Religious Education offer is as inclusive as possible for our community.

We would be really grateful if you could spend 5 minutes completing the survey below.

Thank you in advance, for you support 😊

Halloween Event- Reminder

On 22nd October, we will be inviting your children to either dress down or wear Halloween fancy dress. We would like them to bring their costume in a bag to change into – they will need to wear school uniform before then. Please do not send in face paints, as we are not able to apply it for them. Due to restrictions, our teachers are planning lots of exciting activities that they can carry out in their classes, including Halloween arts and crafts. If your child chooses to bring in a costume on that day, please can any Halloween themed props be left at home e.g hats and masks are fine to bring in.

Y4 Trip- earlier start time

During the morning of Tuesday 16th November 2021, the Year 4 children will be visiting Molineux Football Stadium in Wolverhampton. To ensure we arrive on time for our tour and workshop, please can your child be at their classroom door at 8:20am on this day as we will be leaving at 8:30am due to potential rush-hour traffic. Although we will be arriving back during lunch time, please can you provide your child with a packed lunch rather than a school dinner.

For more information about this trip, please log into Parent Pay.

Many thanks

The Y4 Team

PS- We will send out a reminder nearer the time.
