Y4 Home Learning

Hi Year 4 children and parents,

Mr Jackson and I have begun to set work on Purple Mash for you to start to complete as and when.

Suggested ideas for this week:

  • Read to yourself or an adult and record in your reading diary.
  • Practise your times tables. This could be by singing some of the songs, going on Super Movers or going on Times Table Rockstars
  • Complete writing-based tasks on Purple Mash/ or use Pobble365 for some inspiration
  • Make a branching data base on purple mash
  • Take part on Joe Wicks’ Daily PE lessons on YouTube

Life skills activities:

  • cooking (whilst supervised by an adult)
  • Practising telling the time
  • Practising tying shoes laces (if you haven’t quite mastered this already)

A bit of fun:

  • Dance to the Danger Mouse Supermovers dance
  • Watch one of your parent’s favourite cartoons/TV shows as a child on YouTube. For children in my class, it could be that you watch an episode of Brum as I know how much you love that show! It’s one of my favourites from childhood! Another favourite of mine was The Racoons.

Please note that these are just suggestions. Please remember to look at the information sheet we provided for other ideas to support your learning.

One last thing- if you’d like to post pictures to our homework blog of your child cooking, helping you with jobs, completing work or just simply enjoying themselves, we’d love to see them!

Keep well and keep safe,

Miss Macfarlane and Mr Jackson

Free PE workouts from home

Join me every day next week for a home workout 😀
Starting Monday 23rd March I’m going to be hosting a free workout aimed at kids LIVE on my YouTube channel.

With the schools closed and with us all spending more time at home, it’s more important than ever that we keep moving and stay healthy and positive.

Exercise is an amazing tool to help us feel happier, more energised, and more optimistic.

The workouts will be fun and suitable for all ages and even adults can get involved.

You don’t need any equipment, just tune in to my YouTube channel at 9am each morning for a 30-minute, fun workout.

One more thing! I really need your help to spread this message. So please please share this with everyone that might like to get involved, and together we can help keep the nation moving 🙏🏻

You can subscribe to my YouTube channel at the button below.

Lots of love, Joe x

As I have already let you know we do intend to send some suggested activities via the website and would love to find out how you get on with them at home.  Everyone received the opportunity to use the evidence me app from January 2020 and this is the perfect way for you to show us photo’s of your children learning and having fun at home.  Please use this app if you would like to share their learning with us. Reception Timetable

Dear Parents and Carers. Please find attached a timetable for you to work from over the next few weeks. We will be sending out daily updates with the daily activities for you all. Children in the early years learn through play as well as the focused activities we do in class. During an afternoon in Reception we have child initiated time. This is where the children are able to choose their own activities and learn by playing and exploring their own ideas. Please feel free to send us evidence using the Evidence Me App or via the blog. Don’t forget the email too if you need any help at home. We have also included the 100 things to do inside grid for ideas to do in the afternoon.

We hope you all stay safe and well.

Year 1 Afternoon Project Ideas

Today, children who were in school will have brought home a pack. Within this pack you will find a sheet which has a selection of afternoon project ideas that you may choose to complete as part of your learning at home.  We have also included a digital copy of this sheet here for those who were not at school today.

Year 1 Afternoon Project Ideas

Some of these projects are links to activities on PurpleMash. Each child has their log in details and information on logging into their PurpleMash accounts in their diaries. However, for those without this information please see the picture below. If you need any more help on finding your child’s log in details, please do not hesitate to email Miss Hailey and Miss McCullagh on the email address provided in the post below.

Thank you!
