Transition to Secondary school – advice for parents/carers

This short guide provides tips about how children preparing for, or going through, the transition to secondary school can best be supported by their parents and carers.

It includes guidance which explains why the transition can be difficult for some children, and practical advice such as talking and connecting with the new school, as well as suggested resources that children and parents and carers may find useful.

BeSmart cup prize

Mrs Churm’s class are the Be SMART Cup winners!

On Friday our brilliant class was announced as the Be SMART Cup winners and this means we have earnt a treat! The children have chosen to watch a movie in their pyjamas with teddies and do some crafting at the same time!

On Tuesday (25.3.25) the children will be able to bring in their snugglies to get changed into in the afternoon (pyjamas, oodie, dressing gown or small blanket) to enjoy a film with their friends.

The children are very excited and we are very proud of them for their wonderful achievement, as we have been all year!

Mrs Churm and Mrs Horler.

Red Nose Day

Don’t forget today is Red Nose Day
Children can come in dressed in red or Red Nose Day charity clothing if they wish to.
The day will be filled with fun activities for the children as we all take part in such a wonderful event.

Eatwell Family Cooking Recipes

Eatwell visited this week to deliver a family cooking session to 6 of our families. We would have loved for more to be involved however we were limited to only 6 children and their special adult for the session. They had a wonderful time working together to cook a delicious, healthy meal of quesadillas, salsa and fruit salad. Please find attached recipes to use at home if you’d like to try making one of the meals as a family. We’d love to receive photos, via our school email address, if you do have a go for yourselves at home! Happy cooking!

Key Stage Two children have two sessions coming up soon where they will learn more about a balanced diet and the importance of not eating too much sugar, which will be delivered by the Eatwell team.
