Lost property and left items

We have lots of items that have been left behind in nursery including coats, wellies and hoodies.  Please can you collect them, if you are able, from the nursery fence where I have hung them up. If your child is still in nursery in September we can always return them to their peg for safe keeping on Tuesday afternoon.

If I don’t get to see you again, have a wonderful summer.

Farewell to Mighty Oaks leavers.

It’s that time of year again, to our leavers.

Although we are not their mothers, we care for them each day, we cuddle, sing and to read them, and watch them as they play.

We see each new accomplishment, help them grow and learn, we understand their language, we listen with concern.

They come to us for comfort, we kiss away their tears, they proudly show their work to us, we give the loudest cheers!

No, we’re not their mothers, but our role is just a strong, we nurture them and keep them safe, though maybe not for long. We know someday the time will come, when they will have to part.

But we know each child we cared for, is forever in our hearts!

PODS Befriending Scheme is a network of trained parent volunteers who support other parents of children with special needs at the time of diagnosis or during challenging times related to their child’s disability. Every Befriender is someone whose own child has special needs.  They know what it is like to cope with a new diagnosis and the challenges that come with it in the future.  This service is free and confidential. We support parents of children with any type of disability or special need.

Are you the Parent Carer of a child or young person with a special need or disability?
Do you have some spare time to spend listening and supporting other parent carers on a 1:1 basis? If so, why not become a PODS Befriender?
The PODS Befriending Scheme offers emotional support, and some practical strategies, to parent carers who have a child with a disability or additional need.

End of year photos

As the end of the academic year draws near we would like to call your attention to the final observation that you will receive on evidence me.  Your child’s keyworker will be sending an end of term message and attached to this is all of their observations for the year that we are able to share.  This is a PDF which you can save, download and print as an end of year book.

Enjoy!

September update

14.7.21

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have now received headline changes to COVID-19 guidance, from the Department for Education.

Clearly there is a lot of uncertainty and time to pass before we return in September, so I plan on confirming our procedures a week or so before we return. What we do know is what will remain…

WHAT NEEDS TO STAY
  • An updated risk assessment that we will regularly review.
  • Remote learning offer for those who are self-isolating and well enough to learn.
  • Good hygiene and regular hand washing – the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach continues to be very important.
  • Regular cleaning of areas and equipment.
  • Keeping occupied spaces well ventilated – while maintaining a comfortable temperature.
  • Following public health advice on testing, self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of COVID-19.
  • Those who test positive with LFD should isolate and get a PCR test.
·         Staff undertaking twice weekly home tests beginning the week before we return to school

WHAT HAS CHANGED according to the Department for education
  • Bubbles no longer necessary.
Our school views:

We are not comfortable with stating that all of the recommended changes will happen and are reserving our final confirmed plan until a week or so before we come back in September. We aim to carefully monitor the national and local picture and make informed decisions based on the evidence.

  • Assemblies can resume.
  • No longer required to make alternative arrangements to avoid mixing at lunch.
  • Contract tracing will be conducted by NHS Test and Trace and not settings.
  • From 16 August 2021, children under the age of 18 years old will no longer be required to self-isolate if test positive as a close contact but will be advised to take a PCR test.
  • Face coverings not advised for pupils, staff and visitors – either in classrooms or in communal areas including on dedicated school and public transport.
  • Most staff in schools will not require PPE beyond what they would normally need for their work.
  • Settings to create outbreak management plans.
·         It will not be necessary to stagger start and finish times for schools and colleges

Kind regards,

Sports day’s

Mighty Oaks children had great fun this week taking part in our sports day’s and the weather was really kind to us too.

I think they deserve a big round of applause for their super efforts. 👏🏻🏆🏃🏻🏃🏾‍♀️
