Story in a Box Competition

Wow, we are so thrilled to see so many wonderful competition entries for Story in a Box. All of the children who have taken part have worked really hard and we are proud of them all. The children will have the opportunity to share their box with their class on World Book Day. Competition winners will be announced on Thursday during our World Book day assembly.

Some children have said that they have left their entry at home – we have therefore extended the deadline until tomorrow morning.

Thank you for your continued support.

Keeping children safe online

On Tuesday 18th March, the NSPCC will be doing a virtual session all about how to keep your child safe online. For more information, please see the attached flyer.

NSPCC Online Safety Workshop Flyer – March 25

Here are the details below for anyone wishing to attend the virtual session.

This session will also run at Newdale Primary school on Tuesday 6th May from 2:00-3:00pm for anyone wishing to attend face to face.

Story in a Box Competition – Nursery – Y6

This year, we will also be running a competition, ‘Story in a Box’. The children are invited to create a story in a box. All you need to do is create your favourite story inside a box. This will be a house competition – one child from each house across the school will be chosen to win a £5 voucher that they can use in our Scholastic Book Fair. If your child wishes to take part, please ensure your child brings their box in no later than Monday 3rd March. Forms can be collected from the class teacher. The winner will be announced on World Book Day during our whole school assembly.

NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe

We will be participating in the NSPCC’s Speak Out Stay Safe programme during the week starting 17th March. This important initiative aims to educate children about the different forms of abuse, how to recognise the signs, and the importance of speaking out to stay safe. The programme includes engaging virtual assemblies and interactive classroom activities designed to empower children with the knowledge and confidence to seek help if needed. We believe this programme will greatly benefit our students and support our school’s safeguarding efforts. Please see the attached letter for more information.
