Year 2 Spelling Activity – Wednesday 10th February

 

Hi year 2,

Here is todays spelling activity. Unfortunately something went wrong when I printed out your spellings and all of the letters in each word got jumbled up! Can you help me by unscrambling each word so that it is spelt correctly?

Contacting staff at school.

We would like to remind parents that we have set up year group emails for you to contact your child’s class teacher regarding any issues or concerns you may have. ART DAY Monday 8th February

A reminder that Monday (8th February) is ART DAY at Newdale!  🎨

Your class teachers will have already sent you the options of things to take part in for this day, so we hope you have had a look and selected which creative activities you would most like to do! We can’t wait to see them.

Don’t forget that one option was the handprint art, along with Grandparent handprints and that you may even like to host your own virtual/telephone tea-party with grandparents this week.

If your child is in school on Monday, then they are welcome to bring in their Grandparent’s handprints (digital, posted outlines, etc) into school to complete in class. Please remember to name the back of them so we know which hands belong to who!

Year 2 Spelling – Friday 5th February

 

Hi all, today is spelling test day. Yay! Can you please complete your spelling test of the ‘tion’ suffix words that you have been learning this week and then email your score to newdale.year2team@taw.org.uk. Good luck!

Next week you will all be learning the same ‘Jumping Orange’ words – these are all common high frequency words.

Year 2 Spelling activity – Thursday 4th February

 

Hi Year 2. Today’s spelling activity is a colourful one. You will need 3 different coloured pens, crayons or felt tip pens to write your own Rainbow words.

First, write one of your ‘tion’ spelling words in pencil. Next, draw around each letter 3 more times using a different coloured pencil. Do this for each of your spelling words. Do they look colourful?

Year 2 Home Learning – Thursday 4th February

Hello Year 2! 

There will be two live lessons on Thursday, Maths at 9.30am (looking at 3D shape properties) and Literacy at 11am (looking at apostrophes).  You should have received an invite for this session however if not, then you can join the meeting through the Teams app. Please come to each meeting armed with paper and a pen to write.

Following the lesson, the worksheets below should be completed.  You do not need to print this sheet but the children will need to see it so they can work out their answers.
