European Day of Languages next Tuesday

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Tuesday 26th September we will be celebrating European Day of Languages across Newdale. Year 3 have been allocated Denmark to explore for the day. We will be completing Danish themed activities in class on that day and children may come into school wearing red and white clothing to signify the Danish flag. Please remember that this is also a PE day so suitable coat and trainers will be needed.

Thanks,

The Year 3 Team

STEM Day

Today, the children created prototypes of kites before creating them full sized. They also spent time investigating their fingerprints.

Bags for Books

Dear Parents/Carers,

Towards the end of the week (Wednesday onwards) we will be beginning to send books home. Please send your child in with a strong bag-for-life on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Thanks in advance,

3GB Attingham

We were extremely lucky to have amazing weather and incredibly supportive parent helpers today for our Attingham visit.

Attingham information

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please ensure that your child comes into school in waterproof forest school gear (ideally with wellies) on Wednesday. They will also need their lunchbox to be packed in a rucksack so this can be carried with them.

Thank you,

The Year 3 Team

Governors involvement within school

Governors from the Finance & Personnel met yesterday and were thankful to a Grandma of a child in reception who came to talk through the induction process. She reflected positively in that the induction process is personal to each child. She felt the information she gained before her granddaughter started school was clear and concise.

A cross section of children came to talk to governors about their understanding of British values and the BeSMART code. Children could confidently articulate their understanding and how the values relate to their life, school and wider community.

Governors met with the After School Club lead and was reassured that the range of activities and snacks on offer is of high quality. Governors were happy that the After School Club with continue to facilitate trips and events in and outside of school. They approved more investment into new resources for the club.

Safeguarding, H&S Governors

Governors met with children and discussed their experiences regarding the recent Healthy Lifestyles Week.  It was very evident that the children thoroughly enjoyed the experiences. Governors questioned the learning outcomes of the event and were impressed with the children’s answers as to what they could improve on personally following the week and what they have learnt.

Governors approved and scrutinised a number of safeguarding policies. Governors carried out an audit and were again satisfied that their understanding about policies and procedures regarding safeguarding is robust.
