Covid-19

It is likely that we have a positive case in Y4. We are awaiting a PCR confirmation. Please can we ask parents to lateral flow test their child, even if they feel well today/tomorrow before school. As always, if your child is unwell and displaying symptoms, please can you keep them off school and get them tested.

Many thanks

Winter Wonderland

Thank you for attending our Winter Wonderland. We hope you had a lovely afternoon.

Merry Christmas!

Winter Wonderland

Dear Parents/Carers,

It was so lovely to actually get out in our Winter Wonderland today.

As you can see, I was having a marvellous time too with Alan the Christmas bear!

The children just love someone from their family coming to school, so they can show off what they do and the environments they have.

The weather has been a real challenge, but in true Newdale style, we have not been defeated! If your child’s event was postponed due to the vile weather, you will now know of the rescheduled date and time.

If the weather deteriorates again, we will move to our hall plan b.

Just a reminder about footwear. Basecamp is rather muddy/slippery and hence sturdy shoes or wellies are recommended!

Kind regards,

Miss Cook

Mobile phones

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please can we remind you not to use your mobile phone whilst on school grounds. When coming on to site could you please make sure you put away your mobile device and not use them for answering calls, text messages or taking photos. This is in line with school policy and is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Y4 Information for Mrs Fenn’s Class

Y1 will be coming out of their isolation bubble on Tuesday 7th December 2021. This will mean that from this day, Mrs Fenn’s class will return to using the decking for entering and exiting at the start and end of the day.

Many thanks

Mrs Fenn

03.12.21 Winter Wonderland

Dear Parents / Carers,

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Winter Wonderland experiences over the next few weeks. We only hope that the weather is kind to us and that we do not have to postpone or worse cancel some. We will be carefully monitoring the weather apps and will give you as much notice as we can if we need to move or cancel the event. Fingers crossed!

We will be sending a series of reminders to ensure everyone is clear about dates, times and what to bring. I apologise now for the repetition; we just want to be sure that everyone accesses the information.

When it is your child’s event, please consider the following:

  • Wait near Basecamp which is by our visitor’s car park. We will cordon off some car park spaces so you have somewhere to wait.
  • Let your child’s teaching team get the children into Basecamp without encouraging the children to come to you beforehand.
  • Bring TWO mugs, one for you and one for your child for the hot chocolate treat.
  • Do not bring younger siblings or other family relatives – we are trying so hard to keep numbers to an absolute minimum to reduce the risk of any family or staff member having to self-isolate over Christmas.
  • Do feel free to take photos of your own children but do not post any images that have other children in the background on social media.
  • Make sure your child is dressed for the weather. We will proceed with each event unless it is pouring with rain or very windy.
  • Let your child come in PE kit if it is a normal PE day.
  • Dig out your Christmas jumpers for you and your child to wear.
  • Bring your singing voices as no doubt you will be asked to join in!
  • At the end of the event, parents will leave the Basecamp before the children – we can then ensure we have everyone before taking the children back to class.

As I say, I apologise in advance for any repetition. We simply want to avoid confusion. The children are all excited about the events we have planned in school, and we know this will be extra special for them as you are invited as their guests.

We understand that for various reasons, not all parents will be able to attend. Staff already have very special activities to do for those children, so they do not feel left out.

Fingers crossed everyone!

Year 4s Winter Wonderland 9th December

Winter Wonderland Itinerary

Dear parents / carers,

Following the news of our Winter Wonderland on the 9th December, we wanted to update parents on the plans for the event to ensure an enjoyable experience for all involved. Our ‘Winter Wonderland’ experience will be taking place in Basecamp at the front of school and each child shall be permitted to bring one adult per child to accompany them. Parents are reminded they shall need to bring their own mug if they would like hot chocolate. As the activity will be taking place outside, we recommend wrapping up warm and to wear something festive! The itinerary for each class are as follows;

Mr Jackson’s class

  • 11am Start of session and hot chocolate and biscuit served.
  • Craft Activity and exploration of basecamp.
  • Christmas singalong.
  • 12pm end of session.

Mrs Fenn’s Class

  • 2pm Start of session and hot chocolate and biscuit served.
  • Craft Activity and exploration of basecamp.
  • Christmas singalong.
  • 3pm end of session.

At the end of Mrs Fenn’s class session, children will be required to return to class before being released to parents.

We will be watching the weather forecast closely and we hope that the weather is on our side! Likewise, we will be monitoring the situation with regards to covid and following all recommended guidance. Should we need to make any changes, we will try to let you know as soon as possible.

We look forward to seeing you on the 9th.

Kind regards

The Year 4 Team.
