Stranger Danger

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had a report that has prompted us to remind our children about the importance of stranger danger awareness when not on our site.

If your child walks home alone, please can you remind them of the importance of going straight home and not talking to unfamiliar adults or youths.

Kind regards,

Miss Cook

Lost property

Dear Parents/Carers,

Despite many reminders, some of our children are struggling to take responsibility for their own belongings. This image below shows what was left on our Astro only after one day.

As you know, it is near impossible for us to get belongings returned to their owners if they do not have a name in them.

Please can you support us by talking to your children about being responsible for their things and placing their name in all items.

Many thanks

Newdale Team

School lunches on trips

Over the past year, we have had lots of school packed lunches made as parents have requested one via Parent Pay but then have provided their own on the day of the trip. This has meant that we have had school packed lunches which have not been needed but have been made up by our kitchen. To avoid food waste, please only select on Parent Pay if you would like a packed lunch for your child if you are not going to be providing one for them on the day.

Thank you

Newdale Team

Keeping Children Safe

Newdale’s Safeguarding priority is to ensure that our school community is a place where everyone feels they belong and that they feel safe.

We all have a responsibility to keep our children safe: in school and at home. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play. It is important that we all know what to look out for, know why children can be vulnerable and how they can be manipulated into harmful situations and exploited.

We know that reading information about safeguarding can sometimes be an uncomfortable read, but it is vital that we all know of the ways we can keep our children safe and how to act should there be any concerns. This short guide shares some information about contextualised safeguarding (within our community), signs to look out for and pathways for support and reporting.

Contextual safeguarding recognises that the different relationships that young people form in their neighbourhoods, schools and online can unfortunately feature violence and abuse. It is our responsibility to ensure that we are protecting children within our community from harm.

Within this guide, we have included useful links for parents and carers to help offer extra information as well as routes for support if needed.

Many thanks

Young Voices – January 2025

We are really excited to announce that Years 4 and 5 will once again have the opportunity of taking part in the very special ‘Young Voices’ concert which will take place on Wednesday 15th January 2025 at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham (this will be a late night!).

This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to experience singing as an ensemble alongside professional musicians and conductors. We always get fabulous feedback from children and parents who experience Young Voices. If you are keen for your child to be involved, it is very important, that your child is prepared to put in a lot of hard work and commitment both during the after school clubs and during the event.

After school club will start on Monday 14th October and run until Monday 13th January until 4.15pm, excluding the week of parents evening 2nd December.  Children are to be collected from the back of the hall.

The cost of the club is £2 per week. The cost of the concert including the coach costs is £24. In order to secure your child’s place in the club and at the concert, we are asking for the after school club costs and a £10 non-refundable deposit towards the concert costs. A further £10 will be required in December. As always, school will subsidise the remaining £4 per child in attempt to support parents with costs so that as many children as possible can experience Young Voices.

Further information regarding tickets for parents/carers will be available in the coming weeks and the option to sign up will be on 7th October 2024. We are limited to 30 places only.
