Merry Christmas!

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have finally made it to the last day of a very long term. It was so lovely to see the children in the hall this morning enjoying a snowball fight as part of our fun, seasonal activities.

We promise you we will hand them back this afternoon all super excited and ready for the big day!

With the Panto and the numerous events we have had this half term, it really has flown by. Thank you for all of the support you have shown the teams at Newdale along the way. It really does make a huge difference. We take our partnership with parents very seriously.

From all of the staff at Newdale, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

We look forward to welcoming your children back on Tuesday 7th January. Staff are carrying out a training day on Monday 6th January.

Parent View

Dear Parents/Carers,

I messaged out last week concerning the Parent View survey. Thank you so much to the 36 parents who have found the time to do this 5-minute survey. We really do appreciate it 😊.

As I said last week, we are very proud to deliver the highest quality of education for your child, along with offering them all of the additional experiences that we feel make our school so unique. We never become complacent and are always striving to further improve what we do.

The feedback we get from this survey is invaluable to us in knowing what we continue to do well and what, if anything needs a tweak!

If you are unsure about any of the questions, rather than clicking the ‘don’t know option’, please visit our school website to find out more information or ask a member of the team before completing the survey. Please also find attached a reminder of our feedback from our Parent Survey from the summer term.

Please let us know if you would prefer to complete this survey in school or if not, follow the link below.

PE Days Spring 1

Hi all,

Just to let you know that PE days after Christmas will be on a Tuesday and Friday.

Mrs Stack’s class will start their 5 week block of swimming on the first day back (Tuesday 7th January 2025) and so will need to bring in their swimming costume each Tuesday during this time. Mr  McFarland’s class will just require PE kit as normal.

Many thanks

Mrs Stack

Last Week

Hi all,

Not many sleeps to go now!

Just a few reminders for this week:

Wednesday’s Christmas Event

The children can wear their Christmas jumpers all day on Wednesday, along with their PE kit please. Also, please remember to bring your mugs if you would like hot chocolate!

Friday – Last Day

It is a dress down day on Friday and so the children are not required to come in uniform. We have lots of fun things planned during the day! For their party in the afternoon, the children are allowed to bring in a board game from home. However, please ensure that they do not bring any expensive or electrical items.

Thank you for all of your support at home. The children have worked so hard this term and we are extremely proud of them.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas break and a Happy new Year.

Mrs Stack and Mr McFarland

Curriculum Governors Involvement in School

The Curriculum Committee Governors met on the 11th December 2024. The enjoyed listening to the Upper Phase Leader talk about her role and the impact she has across Year 5 & 6.

They viewed the new Pupil Premium Strategy and questioned the lead on expenditure and the impact expected over the year.

As ever, the Governors really enjoyed talking to the children about their learning. This time, the theme was Religious Education. The Governors agreed that the children all enjoy this subject and were able to confidently articulate their learning so far this year and from previous years.

Finally, the Governors spent time looking at parent and pupil voice information linked to our Breakfast and Afterschool club. Governors were reassured that the offer we have is robust and looked on favourably by both parents and children. During the next meeting Governors are going to look at our Science curriculum.

Dear Parents/Carers,

As a school we are very proud to deliver the highest quality of education for your child, along with offering them all of the additional experiences that we feel make our school so unique. We never become complacent and are always striving to further improve what we do.

One of the many ways that you can support us is through completing the annual Ofsted questionnaire – ‘Parent View’. This would only take you five-minutes and would be invaluable to us in knowing what we continue to do well and what, if anything needs a tweak!

If you are unsure about any of the questions, rather than clicking the ‘don’t know option’, please visit our school website to find out more information or ask a member of the team before completing the survey. Please also find attached a reminder of our feedback from our Parent Survey from the summer term.

Donations

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following the meeting that the Governors held with Breakfast Club/Afterschool club children, it came to light that the children would like more Lego /Minifigures to play with before and after school.

Since this meeting, we have looked and are rather astounded at the cost of such things now.

If you have children that have perhaps grown out of lego/minifigures, we would be happy to take them off your hands!

We are also after ‘small world’ items such as cars, farm animals, dolls, action figures, building blocks and push chair/prams.

If you can donate, please bring them along to the office.

Many thanks

Miss Cook
