Red Nose Day- Friday 19th March 2021

We will be supporting this charity by allowing children to come to school/ nursery wearing their PE kit along with something red. Please do not feel the pressure to buy something red; any splash of red will do!

Red Noses are now on sale on Parentpay to purchase at £1.50 each. Closing date is Monday 15th March at 9am. Red Noses will be given out in class/ nursery on that day. Any noses that haven’t been sold will be advertised on Tuesday 16th March.

Children are not permitted to wear their red nose in school/ nursery until Red Nose day on Friday 19th March.

Due to no cash donations allowed in school/ nursery, we have set up a Red Nose day donation page on Parentpay for you to donate.

Year 1 – Reading Diary Reminder

Hi Year 1,

Please remember that reading  diaries and any reading books need to be brought into school tomorrow. We will keep them over the weekend and return them to you on Monday with new reading books and next week’s spellings to be practised.

Please don’t forget about using the e-books on Oxford Owl if you wish to do any additional reading over the weekend.

Thank you for your continued support,

the Year 1 team 😊

Reading Diaries

Dear Parents and Carers,

Please remember that reading diaries are due in tomorrow so that we can still monitor how your child is reading at home. We will then quarantine them over the weekend and return them with your child on Monday.

Thank you,

The Year 5 Team

Changes to the Year 6 classes

Due to staffing issues caused by the pandemic, we have needed to temporarily re-group the year 6 classes.

As you are aware, Mrs. Thomas remains at home and will continue to support children through online teaching, supported in class by Mrs. Lewis.

Miss Clay will support children face to face with the support of Miss Bethwaite.

Please know that any changes we have made are temporary and are to support your child in the best possible way.

Day one complete!

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had a lovely day. When I say ‘we’ I mean not only the children, but all Newdale teams too! It was an absolute pleasure seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter. I hope the reports you have had from your children reflect what we have seen in school today.

Some points to remember…

Drop off

Please remember we are opening the gates between 8:30 am until 9 am. It was very busy at 8.30 am and registers do not close until 9 am. If you have not got to rush off to work, then coming slightly later would be safer for you and us.

The one way system worked well. We know that it is a long way around for some, but alas it is all we can do at this time to help with reducing infection levels. Remember that adult to adult transmission is the highest when looking at risk. There will be some tiny tweaks to the one way system tomorrow and staff will guide you.

Pick up

Thank you to all parents who helped to keep the one way system running smoothly at home time. Our gates open at approximately 3 pm, to allow for you to collect your child. There will be some tiny tweaks tomorrow and staff will guide you.

PE

The system where children come in dressed in PE kit on PE days works well. Check out the website for confirmation of your child’s PE days.

Playtime/lunchtime

The lunchtime team did a tremendous job today. It is not easy getting 500 + children through lunch in an hour! Again, we have a few tweaks to the system which we will put in place tomorrow.

Illness

At this time of the year there are usually still quite a few bugs around, but as you know we need to be overly cautious for the sake of everyone else. Do not be offended or surprised if you get a call about your children’s health. We need to double check everything and rule out the virus as much as we possibly can.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
