In case you have forgotten any of the information about Year 1, this letter will tell you everything you need to know about your return to school.

Year 1 Class Info Sheet 2020

We have got lots of fun activities planned for you over the next few weeks. Take a look at our Autumn overview below. This will tell you all about the topics that we focus on in Autumn. You might even like to see what else you can find out about these topics at home – we would love to hear what you learn! This page is a really useful starting point if you are looking for ways to support your child’s learning at home 🙂

Welcome to Year 3!

We hope that you have had a brilliant summer holiday and that you are now looking forward to starting back at school on Wednesday 2nd September!

A few reminders:

Please use the gates by the car park to get on to the school site and line up on the playground outside Base 9 (Mrs McLaughlin’s & Mrs Pablos’ class) and Base 10 (Mrs Trevor’s class). Timings are 8:40am start and 3:10pm finish.

Please remember to bring in a named water bottle each day and reading diaries.

PE will be on a Tuesday (gymnastics) and Wednesday (outdoor). Please ensure that you have the correct PE kit for each of these sessions. On a Wednesday children will come home in their PE kit, so please ensure it returns to school by the following Monday.

Forest school is every week on a Friday during the first half of the Autumn term. Please can children bring a change of clothes and suitable footwear (wellies or old trainers). We go out in all weathers so a waterproof coat is needed.

As part of Y3’s homework, children will be expected to read at least three times a week and regularly practise their spelling and times tables. Children will be tested on their spellings every Friday and times tables every Wednesday.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back tomorrow. If at any point you have any further queries or information to pass on to us, please get in touch directly via our e-mail:  newdale.year3team@taw.org.uk

A Huge Welcome to Newdale Primary Reception Classes 2020!

Hello Reception children!

We hope that you have had a wonderful, fun-filled summer. We can’t wait to meet you all later this week and show you all around your new big school. We are getting excited to see you all in your smart new uniforms too. We bet you look so grown-up!

Attached for parents is a sheet with a reminder of class information on. Here you will find staff working across Reception, along with class base and other information. We will send out more information throughout the week, including information about what your child will be learning about this term.

Information page for parents            September Teacher and Base Info Sheet 20-21

We understand that starting school can be an unnerving time (for parents, not just the children), and with the current circumstances we appreciate that it is even more so, having missed the usual transition opportunities. We are sorry that we are unable to welcome parents in to class with their child as we normally would, but will endeavour to keep parents included as best we can. More details will be sent soon for our online communication system ‘evidence me’, whereby we are able to send photos and observations of your child straight to you through an app. We will also be able to post lots of photos via the website if you have consented and through the home communication books you will receive at the end of the first week. We will of course, try to speak to parents where possible in person. We value you putting your trust in us at this big milestone in your child’s life.

A little reminder that we would love to see your Summer stories, decorated Learning Journey covers and WOW moments that we sent you before the holidays when you come in. Remember that for the first week only, you will have been allocated either a morning or afternoon session to allow your child to settle in and for us to get to know them. They will then start for the full day as of Monday 7th September.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Have a great bank holiday and enjoy the last days of Summer.

The Reception Team :)
