Story in a Box Competition

Wow, we are so thrilled to see so many wonderful competition entries for Story in a Box. All of the children who have taken part have worked really hard and we are proud of them all. The children will have the opportunity to share their box with their class on World Book Day. Competition winners will be announced on Thursday during our World Book day assembly.

Some children have said that they have left their entry at home – we have therefore extended the deadline until tomorrow morning.

Thank you for your continued support.

🌟🌟Friday 28th February – Achievement Assembly 🌟🌟

Friday 28th February 2025

What a wonderful start to the new half-term – the sunshine has even made an appearance! It has been brilliant to see so many happy, smiley faces back in school. This week, Year 3 children were able to build on their British Values understanding by learning about Sikh faith at a Gurdwara. They had hands-on experiences such as exploring the articles of faith, engaging in Sikh practices and even tasting some delicious food in the Langar. On Friday, Year 2 enjoyed their visit to the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham and were able to learn all about plant growth.

Donations to school fund

As a school, we are committed to ensuring that all our children continue to have a variety of opportunities to engage through a wide range of trips, visits and visitors. We believe that these experiences help to provide meaningful learning opportunities, as well as support children with their personal development.

As many of you may already be aware, as a school we subsidise our school visits using our own funds as well as money raised from school events. Although our budgets are certainly becoming tighter, we still appreciate that the cost of living has caused many families to also have financial concerns. Where we can, we will continue to contribute towards school trips so that parents are still not paying the full cost. However, our levels of subsidy simply cannot remain as high as they have always been in the past due to budget constraints.

We have a had number of parents who have asked if they could contribute extra amounts towards trips to support those in our school community who may be struggling due to the cost-of-living crisis. If you would like to do this,  please contribute via ParentPay. Every penny will go towards the trip costs.

We thankyou for your ongoing support.

Uniform donations

If you are having a sort out of old uniform at home, school are low on a few spare items if you would be willing to donate.

We are in need of boys and girls school trousers ages 5-8 and jogging bottoms (black or navy) ages 5-8.

Any donations would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Story in a Box Competition – Nursery – Y6

This year, we will also be running a competition, ‘Story in a Box’. The children are invited to create a story in a box. All you need to do is create your favourite story inside a box. This will be a house competition – one child from each house across the school will be chosen to win a £5 voucher that they can use in our Scholastic Book Fair. If your child wishes to take part, please ensure your child brings their box in no later than Monday 3rd March. Forms can be collected from the class teacher. The winner will be announced on World Book Day during our whole school assembly.
