KS2 Family Cooking session – 18th March

We’ve had a big interest in the family cooking session with over 72 parents putting in an expression of interest. As this session is being run by an external agency, they can only accommodate 6 children and their special adult. The 6 children have been randomly selected and parents have already been informed.

We have some other lovely sessions running this half term where children will learn about healthy eating and healthy lifestyle choices in class. Look out for photos on Facebook and class pages of the website.

Eatwell Project

Today we took part in ‘The Eatwell Project’. We had lots of fun learning about different types of vegetables. We then discussed if we liked the smell, feel and taste of them. We were then taught why we must try to have Five A Day and the importance of vitamins and minerals in our body.

Filtering and Monitoring Systems

In today’s digital age, it is essential to ensure that our children are safe while using the internet. Filtering and monitoring systems play a crucial role in protecting them from harmful content and online risks. These systems help to block inappropriate websites, monitor online activities, and provide reports that can help parents/carers and educators take necessary actions. By implementing these safety measures, we can create a safer online environment for our children, allowing them to explore and learn without exposure to potentially dangerous situations.  Please see a document attached outlining which systems we use. Your support in understanding these systems is greatly appreciated.

NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe

We will be participating in the NSPCC’s Speak Out Stay Safe programme during the week starting 17th March. This important initiative aims to educate children about the different forms of abuse, how to recognise the signs, and the importance of speaking out to stay safe. The programme includes engaging virtual assemblies and interactive classroom activities designed to empower children with the knowledge and confidence to seek help if needed. We believe this programme will greatly benefit our students and support our school’s safeguarding efforts. Please see the attached letter for more information.

World Book Day – Thursday 6th March

We are delighted to announce that our school will be celebrating World Book Day on the 6th March. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to explore the joy of reading and to share their favourite stories with classmates. Throughout the day, we will have a variety of fun activities planned, including The Masked Reader, storytelling sessions and a themed lunch.  We encourage all students to come dressed as their favourite book character as well as take part in our, ‘Story in a box’ competition. We look forward to a day filled with literary adventures and fostering a love for reading in our children. Please see the attached letter for more information.

WBD – parent letter – March 25

There will also be a Book Fair taking place in school (14.03.25- 19.03.25), with more information to follow soon.

Achievement Assembly

Friday 14th February 2025

This week began with year 4 welcoming parents into school for their Times Table assembly. Thank you for your time at this event and we hope you left with lots of useful information.  On Thursday, all children from throughout school went to visit other year groups to share their work. We believe it is so important for the children to revisit and discuss their learning and it was a pleasure to see the older and younger children having these conversations together. We are so proud of how hard the children have worked over these last 6 weeks and look forward to welcoming them back to school on Tuesday 25th February.
