Reception Sports Day 2021

A massive well done to all of Reception for their first sports day! No tears, minimal nerves and lots of positive attitudes to give races a go! We couldn’t be prouder.
We know parents and carers were so keen to see how everyone got on so we have plenty of photos to share…

Reminder about additional copies of reports

Reminder – End of year reports will be sent home with your child on 9th July.   If an additional copy is required by a parent who does not live at the child’s home address, you must contact the school office on 387720 to make a request by no later than Monday 5th July.   

Please ensure that you keep your copy of the report safe, especially if your child is in Year 5.  Some secondary schools (such as Thomas Telford) require a copy to be sent with the application for Year 7 places and we will be unable to make further copies for you once they have been archived.

Update: 28.6.21

Dear Parents/Carers,

 

Unfortunately we have had 2 more positive cases in school (not related to any previous cases we have had).

 

Thank fully our online learning offer is established and that teachers can switch rapidly to avoid children missing more of their education.

 

If your child is any of the bubbles that have been told to isolate, yet you are finding it difficult to gain online access, please call the school and we will do all we can to help.

 

Our procedures in school are as tight as they have ever been and we hope that this outbreak has rapidly been brought under control.

 

As ever, if your children are displaying signs of illness, or in fact if anyone in your house is showing signs of illness, please play it safe and keep children off and get them tested.

 

This virus variant seems to display itself with a headache and cold like symptoms.

 

Luckily due to timings, the bubbles sent home today will be welcome back next Monday, so thankfully only miss 4 more ‘in school’ days where they have to isolate.

 

The Newdale team will continue to work so hard in ensuring the online offer is as high a standard as possible.

ART DAY 2021

Art Day 2021

Next Thursday 1st July 2021, we will be holding our annual Art Day in school!

This is a fun day, where we all get creative, learn new techniques, learn about different artists, and create our own wonderful masterpieces.

Our theme for this year’s art day is ‘Maths in Art’. We will be getting arty, using shapes, angles, illusion, perspective, symmetry to name but a few.

For this day, your child is allowed to come to school in clothing that you don’t mind getting messy! Old clothing or providing an old shirt to protect clothing is recommended.

We will be sure to share photos from the day along with the children’s creations afterwards on the website.

Star of the Week 🌟

Our star this week is Kayan. He has worked so hard during HLW, doing lots of physical activity at home, joining in the 1km run everyday as well as excellent listening in our special assemblies from the dentist and the gymnast.
We are so proud! Keep up the hard work ☺️

Gymnastics and Yoga

Today we were really lucky to have 2 sports sessions. For our first session we worked with Jason the Gymnastics coach to learn a range of gymnastics positions and moves. 

This afternoon Miss Taylor lead a yoga session. She retold the story of the Monkey puzzle and we performed yoga positions for the different characters.

Vision Statement Review
