Life in Modern Britain Survey Feedback

After analysing the parent surveys about how Newdale prepares children for life in modern Britain, one of the main trends was that parents wanted more information on how and when these topics are taught in school. Please find below an information guide to support parents with their understanding of how and when these topics are taught during your child’s time at Newdale as well as discussions you can have at home with your child.

How we prepare children for life in modern Britain

After you have read the guide, we would appreciate it if you could complete a short survey on how useful you have found this information- it should only take a couple of minutes.

Y4 Multiplication Check

During the first week back after half term, all year four children will be taking part in a multiplication test. This test will assess their knowledge of their times tables as well as their speed of recall. They will be given 25 questions to answer, 6 seconds per question.

As always, please support your child at home with practising their times tables.

Below is a practise link for them to try at home:

Many thanks for your continued support.

Y4 Nature Walk

Nature Walk

Year 4 will be going on their nature walk on the morning of Friday 28th May 2021. After our walk, the children will be carrying out art activities involving paint and ink. Out of ease, please can your child come into school in old clothing and bring with them a waterproof coat, spare clothing (in case they get wet on the walk) and suitable footwear.

Many thanks

Hollinswood and Randlay Brownies group

We are for girls aged 7-10 years and we meet on a Tuesday evening in Randlay Community Centre; we do lots of things including crafts, badges, outdoor activities, games, cooking, trips and sleepovers. We help to build girls’ self confidence and self esteem, promote friendships and also learn valuable life skills, and most of all we have lots of fun!

If anyone is interested please go to http://www.girlguiding.org.uk/joinus and select Randlay.

Careers Week

Dear Parents and Carers,

At Newdale, dreams and aspirations are harnessed and nurtured. This is the vision for all of our pupils. We teach all children to become self-confident and to take control of their own lives and create their own futures.

To support our pupils to have dreams and aspirations, we plan a careers programme to help inspire them to work towards the jobs of their dreams.

Our school is a place where everyone gets excited about their next steps and futures. We would like to invite you to share your occupations with our children.

Our careers programme has successfully run in school previously and we are looking for willing volunteers to lead activities with pupils or participate in talks, either in person or via teams.

Careers week will take place week commencing 5th July.

We are looking for people who want to share their experience of their own job – The more varied the occupations the greater the learning experience we can provide.

If you are interested, please email the office and we will get back in contact with you.

Many thanks
