Update 30.4.21

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you know, we are fully open today and we are delighted about that.

I carried out a full site inspection with the Health and Safety lead early this morning and she was happy with all of our procedures linked to the fire and Covid.

We will continue to allow children outside for periods of time, following checks being made of the air quality by our team. Ventilation is being carefully managed to reduce the risk of the virus.

It is known that the fire will continue to burn for a few more days. The fire department is working hard to reduce this time as much as possible.

If there are any useful updates, I will pass them onto you later. We all wish you a fabulous bank holiday weekend and hope that those that live in the vicinity of the fire can get away from it for a few days.

Regards,

Miss Cook

Please have something to write with for each live lesson.

As always, please complete your spellings in your diary or on Google Classroom, read either on Bug Club and Fiction Express and record in your virtual or physical diary and play on TTRS.

School Closure and Remote Learning

Hi Year 4

Unfortunately, the school today has been unable to open due to yesterdays fire nearby.

However, we will be having a live lesson on Microsoft Teams today at 11am. You should receive an invite to this lesson shortly and this can be found on your teams/outlook calendar. This will work the same way as our lessons during remote learning, with the lesson being on Microsoft Teams and Google classroom tasks being set afterwards.

In the meantime, there are other activities you can be doing. These include your spellings which are also available to practise on Google Classroom, going on Times Table Rockstars and reading on Bug Club. The passwords and usernames for these can be found in your reading diary.

We are sorry for the inconvenience

Mr Jackson and Mrs Fenn

Curriculum Consultation – Year 1-6

Curriculum consultation 21.4.21

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today you will have received an email which outlines our consultation period connected to our relationships and sex education curriculum.

This email contains important information about what your child will be learning about in their class and a link to an online feedback form which outlines the content in more detail. Also included, is an information leaflet regarding the scheme that we use to support this curriculum area.

Please can you take a moment to review the materials that you have been sent, recording any feedback on the form. Please note, if you have children in different year groups, the links to the forms are different as the content changes.

Kind regards

Michelle Bishton

Deputy Headteacher

Year 4 Reading Diaries

As a school, the decision has been made that the normal system with regards to handing in of reading diaries daily will commence again. As well as handing in diaries daily, we will print off the spelling sheets and stick them into diaries every Friday. Times table homework will still remain on Times Table Rockstars. In addition to this, we will still be continuing to use the Year 4 email as a way for parents to communicate messages with the Y4 staff if you would prefer.

All of the changes stated above will start as of Monday 26th April 2021. In the meantime, you can either continue with the virtual diary or move completely back to recording in the physical diary this week.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding,

Year 4.
