Free School Meals

Free School Meal Applications

Dear Parents/Carers,

We already have quite a large number of families who enjoy the benefits after applying for Free School Meals and we urge you to reconsider if you meet the criteria listed below.

By applying for Free School Meals, very often parents think it is all directly linked to school dinners. It isn’t! If you qualify for Free School Meals it also would mean that you are entitled to significantly reduced prices for school trips, breakfast clubs and after school clubs. There are many other benefits that your child could directly receive to potentially support them at home and if needed, with their learning at school.

Families with children in Years Reception up to Year 6 can apply for Free School Meals if they are entitled to certain benefits and have an annual income of £16,190 or below.

Please follow the below link, this will take you to the Telford & Wrekin website where you are able to access more information and download an application form which will be sent directly to the team.

Year 2 plea

Year 2- plea please!

Please can your child bring in an empty jar (washed) before it is put into the recycling.

The children only need to bring 1 in each but if you have a spare that would be great.

Many thanks Year 2 team.

E- Safety Top Tip – Online Scam #deets #square

Have you ever noticed the hashtags #deets or #square?

“deets” is slang for bank details and a “square” is a credit or debit card. Young people are becoming victims by handing over their bank details online to fraudsters in exchange for money.

Here are some top tips below to avoid your child from becoming a victim to the above scam.

  1. Check Children’s bank statements with them regularly ensuring every transaction can be accounted for.
  2. Make sure they know not to give anyone their PIN, passcode, or password, even to someone claiming to be from their bank or the Police.
  3. If a child comes home with new clothes, trainers, electronic devices or other items that cannot be accounted for, ask them how they got the money to purchase them.
  4. Explain that allowing someone else to use their bank details, regardless of how attractive or plausible the offer is a potentially a serious criminal offence that could damage their financial future.
  5. Teach them the simple rule that if it looks to good to be true, then it probably is.

If you need more support or guidance with online safety, please contact a staff member or send us an email.
