Nursery Activities Friday 3rd July

Good morning nursery, happy Friday!

These few weeks have flown by! We have two weeks left until the summer holidays begin which means two weeks left of suggested activities in the current format. We hope you have enjoyed them.

Today’s planning is the last of our ‘Growth Mindset’ theme. So, for Friday we are having a calm down. How about a little Yoga? See below for more details:

Update 02.07.2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

The children we have in school continue to tell us and show us that they are enjoying being back into school routines.

We are full in all year groups which is why teachers are continuing to work hard on our ‘Home Learning’ offer for those children who are not here.

As you will now know, we have managed to organise Crossbar for weeks 2 – 5 (inclusive) over the summer: please refer to our website. We do not normally do this and it is purely to support children and working parents during this tricky time.

The government has issued a lot of new notifications recently about easing lockdown measures. We are fully aware that this easing could in fact increase our risks in school. Please be assured that we are not easing any of our measures, and we ask you to be mindful of the need to continue with hygiene measures:

  • strict routines around handwashing before sending your children to school
  • very regular changes of clothes
  • thorough sanitising of drinks bottles every night

It is very important that you do not send your child in if they are ill, and that you ensure you inform us immediately. The NHS website is full of very useful information around what you need to do should anyone in your household begin displaying symptoms.

We are happy to advise, but please remember we are not medics and will really only be able to signpost you to other professionals.

Thank you for your continued support.

Value of the Month- July

Thank you for all your support with the value of the month for June, which was Honesty. Throughout June, children learnt the importance of being truthful to others; being truthful to themselves; doing what’s right regardless of who’s around and being someone others can trust.

Our value of the month for July is Reflecting.

Providing opportunities for reflection is an important part of school and home life. It is important that children are given the chance to reflect upon their learning, school and life experiences.

What is Reflecting?

  1. To think carefully or deeply about something.
  2. To look at ways to make changes or improvements.

Suggestions for parents to work with children at home:

  1. Talk with your child about ‘reflecting’. Try to answer: ‘What does reflecting involve?’ Discuss some examples.
  2. As your child is approaching the end of this academic year, it is important that they reflect on all the positives and negatives they have encountered over the year. Discuss with your child what has gone well this year; have they met a certain challenge or target? What steps did they take to achieve it?
  3. Also discuss with your child what they feel they need to improve on. Perhaps it could be that they need to read regularly at home or have a positive attitude towards their work.
  4. Has something happened this year that they wish they had handled differently? Discuss with your child what they could do next time if faced with the same situation.

Please let your child’s teacher know if we can celebrate any work from home, in school. Feedback on the values and what you do at home is really valuable to us and we really appreciate all your support.

If you can support us in any way, please get in touch via the school office.

Hello Year 4

Hi Year 4,

All the Year 4 adults are all so proud of the wonderful home learning which we’ve seen on the website, on Purple Mash and via email.

Please remember to email us on Purple Mash (or the Year 4 email) to let us know how you’re getting on. We love hearing from you.

Take care

Miss Macfarlane, Mr Jackson, Mrs H and Mr Bevan :-)

Crossbar Holiday Club

Dear parent / carer

Crossbar will be running a Summer Holiday Club at Newdale Primary School on Weeks 2, 3, 4 & 5 of the school holidays and booking will be live this afternoon online at http://www.crossbarcoaching.schoolipal.co.uk where you will need to register as a parent adding your child/children before booking your place.

The club is open to 4*-11 year olds (*4 year olds must have already started school And currently in reception) and will run from 8.30am until 4pm for one fixed price of £15 per day. Your child will need to bring a packed lunch, suitable clothing and plenty to drink.

Crossbar will email all parents again before the clubs commence with instructions for dropping off and picking up your children to ensure this is done in a safe and controlled manner.  There will be no provision to arrive at our clubs without pre booking.

Thank you for your patience whilst we have been working closely with the school to ensure that the club can run with minimum risk to both your children and our the Crossbar Staff.

Please see Our Safety Poster attached. We will be following guidance from government, department of education and the out of school alliance so if anything needs to change, then we will keep you informed at all times.

If you have any questions or queries you can email admin@crossbarcoaching.com or call 01952 677965 between (9am-4pm)

End of year reports and additional copies

For all children currently in school, their end of year reports will be sent home with them on the 10th July.

If your child is not currently attending school, we will send reports home with a sibling or post them out to their main home address.

Separate arrangements will be made for those children in year 6 who are not attending: details for this will be emailed out to parents.

If an additional copy of the report is required by a parent who does not live at the child’s home address, you must contact the school office on 387720 to make a request by no later than Monday 6th July.

Please ensure that you keep your copy of the report safe, especially if your child is in Year 5. Some secondary schools (such as Thomas Telford) require a copy to be sent with the application for Year 7 places and we will be unable to make further copies for you once they have been archived.

Many thanks.
