Beat The Clock!

Dear Parents/Carers,

Every second in school really does count.

Help us to teach your child the importance of being on time…

BEAT THE CLOCK! Key times for you to remember:

8:35 – all classroom doors are opened so children can come in, hang up coats etc.

8:40 – registration is taken. Pupils not in class at this time will receive a late mark. We do leave gates open slightly longer to support parents dropping off more than one child. However, please note that many children in Key Stage 2 walk independently to their classes which can speed up drop-offs. Of course, this is only a decision parents can make, based on the confidence of the child.

8:45 – Children’s learning begins as soon as the register has been taken.

As you know, being in school on time and every day is extremely important for all children in order that they receive the best possible start to their learning.

Please also refer to our one-page information sheet which has lots of useful facts about attendance and what we do in our school. You can also visit our website for more information.

Attendance treats: the class with the highest attendance are already recognised at the end of each week with a treat – this may be a slippers and hot chocolate afternoon, extra play, craft activities etc. Look out for the winners in the Achievement Assembly updates every Friday. The children are also be visited by Cool Cat’s friends, Gertie and Omar, who will spend the week in their class.

We do understand that on occasions children will need to miss school with medical appointments or have genuine reasons for absence, therefore we do also recognise those children with ‘excellent attendance’ that is between 97-100%

Attendance Guide For Parents and Carers

Young Voices January 2024

Once again, we will be taking part in the very special ‘Young Voices’ concert which will take place on Wednesday 24th January 2024 at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to experience singing as an ensemble alongside professional musicians and conductors.

Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The after school club will take place every Tuesday from Tuesday 10th October 2023 until the event in January 2024, collect your child from the doors at the back of the school hall at 4.15pm.

It is very important, that your child is prepared to put in a lot of hard work and commitment as there are many songs and dance moves to learn off by heart, children will be expected to attend all after school club sessions. As there are only 30 spaces available if your child misses two sessions without a valid reason we will offer the space to another child. Also, please note that the evening of Wednesday 24th January will be a very late night and children will be expected in school the next day!

To ensure we are fair to working parents we will send a text message to parents informing you when the post will go live around 7.00pm tonight (2nd October 2023).
