Year 2 Home Learning – Monday 1st February

Hello Year 2!

We hope you have had a lovely weekend.😊

There will be two live lessons tomorrow, Maths at 9.30am (recapping 2D shapes) and Literacy at 11am (looking at a new story for this week).  You should have received an invite for these sessions however if not, then you can join the meetings through the Teams app. Please come to each meeting armed with paper and a pen to write.

Following the Maths lesson, the worksheet below should be completed.  You do not need to print this sheet but the children will need to see it so they can work out their answers.

There have also been some Maths shapes games set on Purple Mash.  These are an optional extension activity.  The link to Purple Mash  is https://www.purplemash.com/sch/newdale  If you do not have your login details then please email us.

If you are unable to attend the live sessions, a recording of the lesson will always be available afterwards.  Worksheets and any further instructions will be shared via the website. We understand that this is tricky for some of you working from home, especially those with siblings so we understand that it is not always possible to join live. We hope the recordings help to support this.

Y4 Home Learning

To support children with their daily routine, please see attached a timetable for next week (WC 01.02.21). The timetable outlines the work set for the week. If you feel this will support your child with their daily routine, please feel free to follow it. If your current routine is working well, stick to that as this is just a suggestion. We have found that some children have been completing the morning lessons but not the afternoon lessons such as History and Science; therefore, we have constructed this timetable to outline the work which needs to be completed throughout the week.  It is really important that children are accessing all online work to ensure that they are on track across the curriculum.

Many thanks for your continued support. We have been overwhelmed by everyone’s efforts over the half term. Well done and keep up the hard work!

Mrs Fenn and Mr Jackson.

E-Safety Top Tip for Parents – TikTok

TikTok is a social media platform that lets you create, share and discover 60 second videos. You can use music and effects to enhance your videos and you can also browse other people’s videos and interact with them.

Even though the official age rating for this app is 13+, we are aware that there are children in our school using TikTok at home.  Did you know that there is a Family Safety Mode for this app? This allows parents to link their own TikTok account to their child’s and then they are able to manage screen time, turn features on and off and also oversee their child’s digital wellbeing.

For more information on Family Safe Mode and for extra tips, please see the TikTok parent guide below. (click image to enlarge)

Please remember that Newdale staff are very experienced in supporting E Safety and are only happy to help should you need advice and support.

Wednesday’s live lessons – for those who missed it!

We had two live lessons today, Maths and a British Values lesson.
Unfortunately, due to technical issues beyond our control, we are unable to share the links to the recordings of these lessons.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you do require further support with your child’s learning for today please contact us via email and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

If the recordings do become available later today, we will post them on the website.
