Improvements in our area – Rock Road

Improvements in your area – Rock Road, Ketley – Replacement of Speed Cushions to improve the traffic safety of your road

We will shortly be working in your area as part of the Council’s ‘Pride in Our Community’ investment programme. Between 2018 and 2022 we are investing over £50m in creating a better borough with improvements to roads, footpaths, streetlights, road signs, highways structures and green spaces.

In 2020/21 it is the Council’s aim to further improve our road network and highway assets. Some £12m will be invested during the next year, delivering 222 improvement schemes across the borough.  These improvements will be achieved in partnership with the Council’s new highways contractor Balfour Beatty.

As part of the Council’s ongoing investment into its roads and footpaths, we will shortly be carrying out the replacement of the speed cushions to improve the condition of the traffic safety issues on Rock Road.

When are we planning to deliver this work?

The work is due to take place on 19/10/2020 and be completed by 30/10/2020, weather permitting.

We will be working in two phases, phase 1 (week one) removal of existing speed cushions and reinstatement of the carriageway 09:00-14:30hrs under a Road Closure, Phase 2 (week two) will be installation of rubber speed cushions and lining 0800-1700hrs under a Road Closure.  Diversions will be set out in advance of the works and our dedicated teams will be on site to assist you during this time to help you get past the working areas safely should you need to do so.  Whilst we will endeavour to minimise disruption we ask that you keep vehicle movements to an absolute minimum and not to park on the road. Please also ensure that children are supervised, do not play near the working areas and all pets are kept away from the works.

Information about access to your property

Access will be maintained where we can during the works for residents and for emergency vehicles We will try to cause as little inconvenience as possible and really appreciate your co-operation whilst we are undertaking the works.

If you have any special access requirements while the works are in progress or need to contact Balfour Beatty about these improvements please contact us at our new Telford Highways Hub: TelfordHighwaysHub@Balfourbeatty.com and a member of our team will be in contact with you shortly.

Thank you for your co-operation whilst we deliver these improvements in your area.

Reception Castle Banquet Monday 12th October

Monday 12th October: Castle Banquet

On Monday 12th October we will be holding a special Castle Banquet to celebrate the fantastic work the children have been doing on Castles. So far we have made the castle shields, place cards and decorations. The Party will be instead of Forest School.

Please can your child bring in a  change of clothes to wear to celebrate the Castle Banquet. The children will come to school in their normal clothes and will get changed after their lunch. It can either be a costume they already have at home ( eg A King, Knight, Princess, Queen etc) or some party clothes.

We will make sure we take lots of photos to share with you all.

Many Thanks. The Reception Team.
