Outdoor learning

Making the most of the weather
Mighty oaks children will be taking part in outdoor learning twice a week now on the Tuesdays and Thursdays in the base camp and forest area.
Because of this we ask kindly if your children could have a long sleeve top and trousers spare with them, the areas are safe that we go to, but we do have stinging nettles in there. Please note these are maintained and looked at regularly but kept for a purpose in the wild plant areas for insects and pollination.

Achievement Assembly

Friday 16th May

The sunshine continued this week as our year 6 children completed their SATs and finished the week with an interhouse competition. Year 3 visited the Wroxeter Roman ruins on a beautiful, sunny day. They explored a replica of an Ancient Roman villa, make their own mosaics and discovered that Boudica herself once walked through Wroxeter before fighting the Romans! Year 4 took part in Shrewbury Museum’s fantastic Anglo-Saxon workshop on Thursday. They found out how archaeology helps us learn about the past, wrote messages in runes, made clay pots, sketched artefacts and learnt about the incredible Anglo-Saxon burial at Sutton Hoo.

Year 2 Healthy Lifestyles week

YAYYYYY! Healthy Lifestyles Week!

Our favourite week of the year!

Healthy Lifestyles week is the first week back after half term.

The children are able to wear their PE everyday to school during the week as we will be completing several physical activities each day. Please bring a hat and water bottle too as we will be outdoors a lot.

On Tuesday 3rd June, children will be participating in their wheelie day so can bring in a bike or a scooter. The children MUST bring in a helmet to wear while they use their bike or scooter. If they don’t have one unfortunately they cannot participate. We only have a few at school but not enough to lend out to all children.
