Launch of new PE kit September 2023

19th June 2023

Dear Parent/Carer

We are launching a new PE kit for September 2023

This new navy PE top is made of fast drying material, looks cleaner and will stay smarter for longer than the current white option we have. It will also have our Newdale logo on it. Parents have told us that the white option very quickly gets stained and must be replaced more frequently and is therefore not necessarily a cheaper option.

We have worked hard to achieve the best price option possible from our uniform supplier at Baker and Sons. As it is a totally new item of PE kit complete with Newdale logo, school is going to subsidise some of the cost for the first top for every child in school.

You will be issued with a voucher from school before the end of term to take to Baker and Sons which will mean you can purchase your child’s top for just £5 instead of the normal price which will be £8.95. Tops will be available to purchase from Baker and Sons towards the end of July 2023.

When your child grows out of their first top, you have three options:

  1. Purchase another logo top for £8.95.
  2. Purchase a non-logo top for £7.50.
  3. Purchase your own plain navy top from elsewhere.

We do ask that no sport logo kit is used as school PE kit please- they must be either plain or with the Newdale logo.

Please note the rest of our PE kit consists of the following:

  • A plain navy hoodie or jumper
  • Plain navy shorts or tracksuit bottoms
  • Trainers or pumps

It is important that everyone abides by our uniform rules as we know how important is it that children feel part of our Newdale team.

We hope you agree that this is a positive update to our uniform. Vouchers will be issued by the office in due course.

Kind regards,

Miss Cook

Year 5 Class Assembly

Dear Parent/Carer

Due to the partial theme of our assembly, children who own Harry potter cloaks may bring these to wear on Thursday next week. Please to do not feel the need to purchase anything especially and to only bring these if already owned. Children can otherwise come in normal school uniform and we will prepare them for the assembly.

We look forward to seeing you then.

The Year 5 team.

NSPCC – ‘Speak out. Stay safe’

Dear Parent/Carer

RE: NSPCC’s Speak out. Stay safe. online programme

I am pleased to tell you that this term (week beginning Monday 27th March) we will be participating in the ‘NSPCC’s Speak out. Stay safe’  online programme. This consists of an online assembly and supporting classroom-based activities. Speak out. Stay safe. is a safeguarding programme available to all primary schools in the UK and Channel Islands. It aims to help children understand abuse in all its forms and to recognise the signs of abuse in a child friendly way. Children are taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a trusted adult or Childline.

In the online assembly, the Speak out. Stay safe. messages are delivered in a fun and interactive way with the help of their mascot Buddy as well as special guest appearances from Ant and Dec.

We have studied the content of the materials and are extremely confident that they are appropriate for primary-school-aged children. By the end of the programme, we’re convinced children will feel empowered – knowing how they can speak out and stay safe.

If you would like to know more about the Speak out. Stay safe. programme you can find information on the NSPCC website www.nspcc.org.uk/speakout or I would be happy to discuss any questions that you may have.
