Year 1 Notices for next term 😊

Hi everyone,

Just a few notices for next term…

PE Days will be:

Tuesday afternoon – Gymnastics (indoor)

Thursday morning – Athletics (outdoor)

Cardboard boxes:

We will be completing our DT topic over the first two weeks back in school. We will be using cardboard boxes to make fire engines. We need every child to bring in one cardboard box for their project. A shoe box, cereal box or similar would be perfect! If you do have spare boxes that you don’t mind donating, please do send them in too!

We need all boxes to be in school by no later than Thursday 22nd April.

Dino Day in Reception!

We had a great day today celebrating all things dinosaur! Thank you for providing fantastic costumes. The children had a wonderful time and it really got them in the spirit!
We did some wonderful Dino Addition, completing the challenges and finding the numbers. We read a story called the Hideasaurus and then brought this to life with our very own Dino hide and seek in forest schools. Look carefully as some children were exceptionally good at camouflage 🌱 🦖.  We then completed some fun activities, such as cutting and creating our dinosaur skeletons. Please have a look at the pictures, but try not to be too scared…

PE Days after Easter

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please be aware that our PE days are changing after the Easter holidays. We will now be having outdoor PE on Mondays and indoor PE on Tuesdays. Please ensure as always that your child attends school in the correct PE kit for those days.

Over the summer term, Year 5 will also be going swimming, however we will provide more information about exact start dates for this closer to the time.

Year 1 Parents – Forest School

Due to a timetable change, there will be no Forest School session tomorrow for Year 1. All pupils can come to school wearing their normal school uniform.

Year 1 Spellings – Week Beginning 29.03.21

Hi Year 1,

This week, you are all going to be practising our Spring 2 Jumping Orange Words. Please make sure you practise your spellings at home, using the spelling grid in your diaries. As you will also have these spellings to practise over the Easter holidays, you might like to do some extra practise too! There is a fun way to practise your Jumping Orange words below! Your spelling test on these words will be on the first day back after the Easter holiday.
