Year 1’s Apple Crumble

This week, we have been learning all about Harvest. Today, we used apples to make our very own apple crumble! All of the pupils got involved and had a go at helping to make their crumble. This afternoon, we took the crumble to Forest School to eat it. The children were very impressed with their efforts and we had lots of positive feedback!

Maybe you could help the grown-ups at home to make some delicious apple crumble too? We would love to hear all about the cooking you get up to! You can find the recipe attached below :)

First Crossbar session for Reception 🏃🏼🏃🏽‍♀️

The children had such a fantastic time in their first crossbar session today.
Lots of new skills practised in the sunshine.

Y4 Homework Reminder

Please encourage your child to read and practise their spellings and times tables regularly throughout the week.

Spelling sheets are stuck in your child’s diary every Friday for children to practise their spellings throughout the following week.

Times table homework can be found in their yellow times table books.

Children are tested on their spellings every Friday and their times tables every Wednesday.

Over the last few weeks, we have enjoyed reading comments from both parents and family members about what their child has read, as well as from the children themselves.

Many thanks

Y4

P.E in Reception.

Reception used up lots of energy in P.E. They learnt about finding spaces and then played some spatial awareness and speed games as well as some games just for fun!
Don’t forget children are now allowed to come dressed in their kits every Tuesday and Thursday. They are looking forward to their first session with the coaches this week.

Reception’s first visit to Forest School…

Everyone enjoyed their first visit to forest schools this year, especially in the beautiful weather.

PE clarification

Dear Parents/Carers,

I understand from viewing social media that some parents are asking for clarification linked to the change in procedure with PE kit.

We really do understand that it is not ideal and we promise to revert back to normal as soon as it is safe to do so.

We place a high priority on PE in our curriculum and really do want our children outside in the fresh air as much as possible.

Some parents were worried their children would be cold. We are happy for children to wear outdoor PE kit each PE day if that helps. Clearly we will not be allowing your children to get soaking wet during PE and expecting them to sit in wet clothes for the rest of the day. Our PE coaches are fully aware of this.

We are not allowing PE kits to be borrowed from school, due to ongoing threats of the virus, so please support us in making sure your child/children are correctly dressed on the PE days.

If you have any further concerns please do call the office on 01952 387720 and the team will be happy to help.

Kind regards
