Wonderful Wednesday

We are planning to start Wonderful Wednesday on 4th March.

Red, purple and orange group will be in the woods in the morning followed by cooking in the afternoon.  Blue, green and yellow group will go to the woods in the afternoon and after cooking in the morning.

Please send wellies in addition to inside shoes and a warm waterproof coat.  If it’s cold a hat, scarf and gloves are very useful too.  Please ensure all items are named though so we can return misplaced items, thank you.

World Book Day

Dear Parents and Carers,

This year’s World Book Day will take place on Thursday 5th March.

As usual, we are all looking forward to seeing your child dressed up in costume as one of their favourite book characters. Teachers cannot wait to get involved too!

The World Book Day website has lots of ideas on how to do this with as much or as little effort as you would like. There are some excellent ideas to get you started: https://www.worldbookday.com/dressing-up-ideas-2019/ and https://www.worldbookday.com/ideas/dressing-up-gallery/

However, children are equally welcome to come to school in their pyjamas all ready for a bedtime story if they prefer – just remember to bring their favourite book too!

As always, your child will receive a £1 book token to spend on a FREE book, or to save £1 on another full price book of their choice.

Our Great Fire of London 🔥🔥

We have been working really hard this week to build our very own Pudding Lane. First, we designed and built our own house models. Then, we took our houses to Base Camp to construct a street. Miss Taylor helped us to start a fire in the ‘bakery’ and we watched as the fire spread along the whole street.

The Great Fire of London 🔥

As a grand finale to our Great Fire of London topic this half term, this week the children have created their own model London city of 1666!

Today we recreated the Great Fire at Base Camp with Miss Taylor using our models. All we discovered about how the Fire spread from house to house came to life!

Can your child tell you about how the Great Fire was eventually stopped?

Our investigation into waterproof materials 💦

Our class bear Bert doesn’t like getting wet in the rain very much so we decided to make an umbrella for him. Today, we carried out a science experiment to test which materials are waterproof and which are not!

Can you remember which material you decided would make the best umbrella?

Sports after school clubs

All sports clubs are now live on Parentpay for after half term. The clubs are as follows;

Monday- KS1 Football

Tuesday- KS2 Football, Gymnastics

Wednesday- Streetdance, Cross country and Year 2-6 Multi sports

Thursday- Year 2-6 Girls Football

Friday- Year 2-6 Dodgeball

  • Please note that cross country training is only running for 4 weeks.

Forest School Cancelled tomorrow for Reception

Due to the bad weather, forest school will be cancelled tomorrow ( Monday 10th February). Children will not need their kit in school. Many thanks Mrs Evans and Miss Broadhurst
