Behaviour at Newdale

At Newdale, we pride ourselves on our calm and orderly environment which enables our pupils to learn effectively. Our ‘BeSMART code’ is the backbone to our behaviour system and we believe that a positive approach is the key to good behaviour. We want to support our pupils in developing a sense of pride in their efforts; both with their learning and with their behaviour.  We reward positive behaviour, for example with stickers, house points and gold cards. Please ask your children about this at home so that you can further celebrate this together. Please see the attached document for more information about Newdale’s behaviour system and how you can use our systems to support behaviour at home too!

Parking at key busy times

We completely understand that the location of our school is not ideal when considering access and parking for parents when dropping off and picking up. We are located in the middle of an ever-growing residential area and are already hard pushed to fit all staff cars on site.

We have had recent concerns shared by parents regarding individuals parking by the junction near Brooks Avenue. This is making access in this area difficult and affecting the potential safety of children, parents and other pedestrians.

Please can you help us by parking safety and considering others access when driving and walking. It maybe that parking further away, car sharing or allowing children to cycle could go some way into helping with the solution. We will also contact the PCSO team to see if they can support at these times.

Thank you for your support in this ongoing tricky issue.

Harvest Donations

As part of our harvest celebration this year, we will be collecting food for local food banks. If you’re able to, please bring in tinned or dried goods, which have at least a month left on their date, on Thursday 10th October. We will be showing the children all the kind donations during our Achievement Assembly on Friday 11th October.

Many thanks in advance

Miss Cook
