Achievement Assembly

Friday 27th September

It has been another busy week at Newdale! This week saw the arrival of Cool Cat, who was very excited to meet and greet the children, as well as a visit from the Mayor to our KS2 assembly. On Thursday, the children took part in a variety of activities including food tasting, art, flag making and music as part of European Languages Day. We have also been celebrating British Values Week and so our assembly this week is themed around our ‘Citizens of the Week.’

Please note that KS1 children had their assembly in their classrooms this week and so are not featured in the photograph.

European Day of Languages

Year 6 had a wonderful time yesterday celebrating European Day of Languages and learning all about Germany. During our research of major cities in Germany, we found out many interesting facts. Did you know that the custom of turning cartwheels came from Dusseldorf and Dresden invented toothpaste? We then had the opportunity to taste many delicious German foods: pretzels, bratwurst, stollen and even pickled cucumber!

Playground Donations

Dear Parent/Carers,

We are looking to add more resources to our play and lunchtime boxes. We are  hoping that we can save some school pennies by asking for donations from parents. We are hoping that you may have some items that your children perhaps have grown out of and therefore do not use anymore. Maybe you have some items tucked away in the garage that you always planned to pass on or sell.

We are particularly keen to receive good quality dolls, babies, pushchairs, wheel barrows, cars, dinosaurs and dressing up clothes but would also welcome things like milk crates, plastic drainpipes and car tyres.

If you have some of the larger items that would be willing to donate, please call the office beforehand.

Thank you for your support in making playtimes at Newdale as much fun for your children as possible.

Miss Cook
