After School Club/Nursery Late Collection

Dear Parent/Carer,

After School Club

Occasionally we struggle with a few parents who are not arriving on site to collect children before the cut off times.

Your child must be collected at or before the time you have booked in. Please allow time for a handover.

We must work out staff ratios based on numbers and therefore it is paramount that everyone is collected on time. If you have booked up until 4.30pm then 4.30pm is the cut off please. If you child is booked in until 6pm then it is crucial that you work to this time.

From September 2025 we will be changing our terms and conditions for both the school and nursery After School Clubs.  This will also apply to late collection for morning and afternoon session times in nursery. The late fee of £6 will remain, however it will change from 15 minutes to 10 minutes.  If you are late more than twice collecting your child/ren we may revoke their place.

Failure to collect your child by 6pm will result in a late collection fee of £6 for every 10 minutes.  This charge will apply even if a phone call notifying the club of late arrival is made and will be payable from 6.01pm onwards. Staff are only paid up until this time and the premises are closed shortly after this.

We appreciate that there can be occasional, extenuating circumstances where you may be late collecting your child.  Time should always be factored in to accommodate this in your journey.

As you are aware if you have not made any contact with the After School Club and your child is not collected within half an hour of closing then we will have to contact the relevant authority, i.e. Social Services and Police.

Contact number:   01952 837720   after 4.30pm  07765147868

We work very hard to keep this club operational, as we really do want to support working parents.

Kind regards.

Year 2 Careers Day

Year 2 had a great day on careers day today! The children looked amazing in their occupation outfits. We were visited by the dentist and a dental nurse. Even Cpl Goodwin came in to talk to us and gave us a taster assault course. What a great day we had! Image preview

Curriculum Governors Involvement

The Curriculum Governors met this week and thoroughly enjoyed listening to a group of Mighty Oaks Nursery children talk about their experience in setting. They also gained a detailed insight into the planning, the training, the team and the challenges from the Nursery teacher, Mrs Pablos. The Governors can clearly see that the dedication of staff is ensuring the provision is continuing to operate at a high level. They are keen to support the increasing number of SEND that is apparent in the setting.

The Governors also had a focus on the curriculum area of Geography. Year 1 children came to show off their books and talk about all they had been studying. Governors believe that talking to children and staff is the best way to be assured about quality of provision and they look forward to carrying out more of this next year.

Reminder – French Day – Friday 4th July

We are excited to announce our upcoming whole-school French day which will be on Friday 4th July  for pupils from Nursery to Year 6. This event has been designed to immerse pupils in the French language and culture through fun and engaging activities.

Pupils can come into school dressed in red, white and blue or even create a costume inspired by a famous French landmark. Throughout the day there will be various activities for the children to participate with including, cooking, handball, pétanque, Farandole (a traditional Provence dance) and much more.

Learning a language goes beyond vocabulary- it opens minds, builds confidence and encourages global awareness. By celebrating France, we help children develop a deeper appreciation for diversity and strengthen their language skills in an enjoyable way.

There will also be the option to have a French themed dinner which consists of quiche, ratatouille, and chocolate mousse, alongside the normal fish and chips which will be served.

If you would like to make a voluntary contribution of £2.00 to support the resources on the day, please log into parent pay.

Thank you for your continued support.

Reminder – Parent Survery

At Newdale, we very much value feedback from our parents and carers. We kindly ask for all parents and carers to complete our online annual parent survey by Friday 27th June 2025.

Year 6 Leaver’s Party

With the end of the school year fast approaching, we are excited to share information with you regarding the Year 6 Leaver’s Party. Different to our usual end of year celebrations, the children this year voted unanimously to have this event instead of our usual end of year production. This fun-filled event will take place on the last day of term, Friday 18th July 2025, from 1.15pm until 3.10pm; it will include music, food, games, photo opportunities, inflatables, nerf wars and much more! We invite two adults per child to join us on this occasion for a contribution of £2 per ticket (see Parentpay for further details), which will support the funding of the activities that have been heavily subsidised by school. We look forward to seeing you there!
