Be SMART Cup- Miss Hill’s Class

Congratulations to my Be SMART cup winners for having a fantastic week last week. All of the children have come back to school after half term with a really positive attitude and are working extremely hard. The children have decided that as a treat, they would like to bring their own slippers and a teddy into school whilst watching a short film and having hot chocolate.

We will therefore celebrate this on Friday 18th November. Please can your child bring in a mug for their hot chocolate- we will provide the hot chocolate.

Thank you,

Miss Hill and Mrs Hawley :)

Earth Day

Dear Parents/Carers,

The children really enjoyed participating in our first Earth Day. Please ask your children what they got up to!

Thank you for the donations you sent in. We made a total of £374.50. When we take away the cost of our beautiful Earth day tree and the small charge from the Wildlife trust, we have £216 left over.

This money will go towards the development of our allotment. We want children to learn about being self-sustaining in growing their own food.

Everyone had a fabulous day which concluded in a celebration assembly and a reflection on why it is important to look after our Earth and what small steps we can do to support this process.

Have a great half term.

Miss Cook

Headteacher

Happy Half term Year 2

Happy Half Term Year 2,

We hope you have a well deserved rest this week ready for another fun and jam packed exiting half term before Christmas.

Few bits to remember – Monday 31st is a PE day but children can bring a change of clothes for their Halloween disco.

A little reminder we will not be going to forest school this half term but we will be going on a Nature walk on Thursday 3rd November. Please make sure your child has a suitable coat.

PE days are Monday and Friday, please ensure your child is wearing the correct PE uniform. Thank you :)

See you in a week, Ms Trevor and Miss Hill.

Harvest

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we originally posted out at the beginning of October, this year for Harvest, we are collecting as usual. In the spirit of supporting our immediate community, we have decided that we want to support our own school community in these times of ever-increasing cost of living for everyone.

We will be collecting non-perishable donations (tins of food, toilet rolls, toiletries etc.) for a ‘give and take’ bank – hence the name GATEway (Give And TakE)!

With the contributions that are generously shared by families, staff and governors, we will be setting up a regularly replenished box of non-perishable items – into which you can add items (box 1) if you can; or take items (box 2) should you need. These boxes will be outside the main office in the parent shelter.

If you can give something, please add it to the box. The box will be based on trust and not manned, and we are very much hoping that it may support those in need as we move into the winter months and while the cost of living is ever more.

Our project will begin with a Harvest Dress Down Day which will take place on Thursday 3rd November. Children can come in their own clothes in return for a donation.

The Gateway bank will begin to be operational from Monday 7th November when you can bring additional items / take items from the ‘Give and Take’ boxes.

Thank you in advance for your support.
