Mr Jackson

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to update the wider school community as to the current situation in Year 5.

Unfortunately, Mr Jackson had to undergo a very long and complex operation at the beginning of last half term in order to remove cancer cells. He will also be undergoing specialist radioactive therapy as soon as he is well enough.

He is feeling positive and looks forward to returning to his teaching position just as soon as he is able. We do not yet have a time frame for this as no one is sure as to how quickly he will recover from the next stage of his treatment.

I know you will all join me in wishing Mr Jackson the best of luck as he continues his treatment and recovery.

We will of course update you of any changes as they arise.

Thank you for your understanding and patience at this difficult time.

Miss Cook

World Book Day in Miss Hill’s Class

Across Year 1 and Year 2, we split into houses and visited each teacher to take part in a different Julia Donaldson themed activity. We made a moving book cover, paper dolls, maps of a story setting and we explored floating and sinking.

This afternoon, we did ‘Stop, drop and read!’. We all chose somewhere in our classroom to get comfy and read.

What a busy day it was!

We can’t wait to hear what book the children will choose with their voucher.

World Book Day in Miss Buckingham’s Class!

The children looked amazing and had a wonderful day today!

Across Year 1 and Year 2, we split into houses and visited each teacher to take part in a different Julia Donaldson themed activity – we made a moving book cover, we made paper dolls, we created maps of a story setting and we explored what floats and sinks.

This afternoon, we did ‘Stop, drop and read!’. We all chose somewhere in our classroom or outdoor area to get comfy and read.

We also made our own books, made reading dens, made playdough dinner for the Gruffalo, built an outdoor reading space and were inspired by athletes in books to be sporty outside.

What a busy day! We can’t wait to hear what book the children chose with their voucher.
